I have a female friend that did something that I would never do. My friend lives in a very old house. Her backyard borders on a very old graveyard. She told me that she never saw anybody visit the graveyard but somebody is visiting it because she sees fresh flowers on some of the graves. Well, when the big flood struck the Baton Rouge area some coffins rose to the surface in the old graveyard. A couple of days later she decides to look at the coffins that rose to the surface. She sees an open coffin with a skeleton in it. The skeleton had a very beautiful ring on one of its fingers. My friend goes and takes the ring off of the remains. When she told me what she did I told her that she was crazy because there must be a reason why the ring was on the finger. She came over to show me the ring. I'm not an expert on jewelry but that ring looked expensive. It had a big red stone. I told her that I would never take anything if I saw the remains of someone. I saw my friend a couple of weeks later and she didn't have the ring on her finger. I asked her where the ring was. She said that she put the ring back in the coffin. She said that about three times she had a dream where this grey haired old lady asked her why she took her ring and she said that she wanted her ring back. The old lady also told her to put the ring back on her finger. She went back and she put the ring back on the finger. She told me that she now understands what it means when the preacher says may they rest in peace. I still see my friend and she said that she never wanted to talk about what she did when the coffins rose to the top.

We stayed at my out-of-town aunts house for my uncles funeral. He was an awesome man and husband.

It was just my aunt, parents and I at the house. A couple days after he passed it was our first night staying there with her the night before the funeral. She was sobbing talking about memories of him with my parents in the living room where we were all sitting around. my aunts cell phone started ringing and the call was from my uncles cell. She answered and it was just static on the other end. She knew his phone was in her bedroom. We walked upstairs to her room and his cell phone was sitting there dead on his nightstand. That was probably the strangest thing I witnessed personally and we all were so perplexed by it. She was at peace with it and believed it was him calling to let her know he made it to Heaven.

Man, the thought of even opening a casket that is exposed and taking a peek is a no no for me. Will always carry the belief drilled into to me at a very young age that you don't disturb the resting whatsoever.

I REALLY can't believe she actually took the ring to begin with. There could be a 100 $ bill under a rock on a gravestone and I wouldn't dare touch it, much less reach inside and take something from a corpse inside the coffin had I been in her situation. Not only is taking things from graves low rent morality wise, it is creepy as hell and surely unleashes bad juju onto you. She deserved those haunting dreams tbh. Surprised it took her THREEE dreams of that until she tapped out. You'd think the first dream would be enough to send the message home. But at least she learned her lesson and returned it to the coffin I guess. Just a total lapse of judgement by your friend. Shoulda known better.

Side thought: how long was the coffin just out there exposed like that? Surprised that 3 dreams were had by her and the coffin was still just out there available for her to still return it. Like, what was the plan had she went back and the casket had already been reburied/reinterned? The way cemeteries work down in LA with the above ground graves and such because of flooding is totally foreign to a Tennessean like me.

I lived in a old rent house in Tuscaloosa for one year a while back.

The very first night we moved out stuff in, we were laying on the mattress on the floor and my wife and I both heard, clear as day, "hey". We looked at each other and didn't say a word.

I woke up one night and went use the bathroom down the hall and saw a very blurry thing standing in the hallway. I didn't think much of it at the time, just figured I was half asleep and dreaming. A few weeks later, my wife said she saw a little girl in a dress standing in the exact same spot as where I saw what I saw. We knew we had a spirit in the house at that point. I always got the feeling something was in the room with me. Especially when I was up late studying at the kitchen table.

I am a baptist believer but I have some stories I can't figure out. I lived with a guy outside of Vicksburg, MS. He was a coworker and gave me a great deal on a bedroom and a whole side of the house for a really good deal. I was 25 and single and wanted the extra slice of my paycheck.

Started off with little things. My hangers would have nothing on them but at night I would wake up and they I would hear them rattling. Didn't think anything of it.

One Saturday I left the house to go to my parents about 45 minutes away. His girlfriend called me and asked if I was upstairs in my room. I said no, I left about 30 minutes ago. She said it sounded like someone with boots on was walking around upstairs up and down the hallway. She was the only one at the house.

A few weeks later my roomate text me at like 11 pm asking if I was playing pool. He had a pool table in a den right outside his bedroom door (downstairs under my bedroom). I said no, I was in bed watching tv. He said he heard someone break to start a pool game and went out to look and no one was there.

Come to find out, the previous owner re bought the house later in life because it was the house he grew up in. His mother died in the master bedroom in her sleep (downstairs room). He had depression and shot himself in the room I lived in (upstairs). That place had some bad mojo. I drank more in the 6 months I lived there then any other time in my life. My roomates ex gf had to go to rehab for drugs. (They bought the house together and when she went to rehab he needed help with rent and offered me the room). Another buddy of his moved in and had to go to rehab for alcohol. That place had some weird stuff going on.

The afternoon that my uncle died, I was still in high school living at home, and I was playing around on the family computer. My uncle entered the room (not entirely unusual, he had a come-and-go as he pleased pass at our house) and told me, "Hey, when your dad comes home, tell him to go check up on me." I asked, "Why?" He responded, "I don't want your aunt to find me like this." and then left the room. I got up immediately to follow him but I couldn't find him, I didn't hear the front door shut behind him, and I didn't see his truck. My dad came home a little while later, I passed the message along, and my dad immediately set out for my uncle's house and found him lying dead in one of his hallways.

Damn.

Can you share anything on the icu experiences

Well,we had this strange thing happen with our monitors. It would only happen on quiet nights around 2-3 am,we would be sitting in the nurses station and the central monitor would start alarming, would show ventricular fibrillation (one you shock for) and a strip would print out.It would always be in a room that was fartherest from nurses station but there would be no pt.in that room and the bedside monitor was turned off.It happened several times, always on slow nights.
The older nurses said it was a ghost,I insisted there was a short or some glitch in the system.
After awhile the hospital bought a new more modern system, different brand.I’ll be damned, same thing would happen with the new monitors, same room.

Then one night there was a pt.in that room and around 2-3 am he put on call bell.Went down there and he said a tall woman in long dark dress was standing in corner staring at him,he called out to her but she didn’t answer so he rang. call bell and she disappeared. We thought he was just dreaming, effect from meds, strange place, etc.
Some time later different pt. in that room rang call bell, went down to his room and he related same experience as previous pt.He was somewhat anxious,we convinced him it was a dream, probably effect of meds, strange place, etc.Gave him a Valium and he went back to sleep. We were little shook up ourselves.
Some time later it happened to a third pt.He was almost hysterical and he wan’t buying our explanations. He starting climbing out of bed, said he was going to jerk out his IV and leave.
He finally agreed to stay if we changed him to a different room.Problem is we didn’t have an empty room,we had to swap rooms with a comatose pt.on a vent. That was an ordeal in itself.
Next day the family of the comatose pt.came in and they were irate that their family member was moved in the middle of the night and no one could give them a good explanation as to why it was done.No one wanted to tell them anything about a ghost.
Thankfully,it wasn’t my pt.so I took off.

Shortly after that I got a straight day job elsewhere, never contacted old co- workers to find out if those things continued.

Couple other strange things happened while I was there and heard stories from other nurses around the hospital.
Was kinda hard to deny the existence of ghosts after those experiences.

I’ve had a few experiences.
My Uncle (Mom’s brother) whom I loved dearly passed away very suddenly of a heart attack at 56. Me and the wife lived in Walker at the time with our infant son. We made the trek back home for the funeral of course. That night after the funeral me and the wife were sitting at my mom and dad’s kitchen table having a beer and reminiscing, everyone else was in bed asleep. My mom had one of those bookshelf stereos sitting on a small end table in the corner of the breakfast nook. All of a sudden this thing turns on and starts playing Don’t Close Your Eyes by Keith Whitley. This just happened to be my late Uncle’s all time favorite song. Needless to say it rattled me and the wife quite a bit. The next morning at breakfast I told my mom and dad what happened. My mom said that was just your uncle telling you goodbye because you were always his favorite.

Another involved my son who at this point is now walking and talking but not school aged (probably 3). We are still living in Walker at this point in time also. We had noticed that some of his toys like the leap frog learning game and tickle me Elmo would just start going off randomly in his room while he was in the living room with us. When this would happen he would smile and giggle to himself. I asked him what was so funny about his toys making that racket. He said that’s John playing with them he thinks they are fun too. My wife’s eyes are big as saucers at this point and she just blurts out “WHO THE HELL IS JOHN!!!” My son says he’s my friend he’s an army man. Thank goodness I’m a war nerd and had several books on the subject because this is before smart phones. I get one of my books that has pictures of planes, tanks, guns, other machinery and soldiers in it. I bring it over to my son and show him a picture of a Vietnam era American soldier and asked him if John looks like this. He says no. Same thing with WW2 and WW1 era soldiers, a negative response. Finally I flip to a portrait of a confederate soldier and he says John dresses like that. Moral of the story is we sold the house 6 months later

I was about ten years old. One night, I saw an angel praying beside my bed.

We rented a house in college that had some inexplicable noises. Footsteps in a hallway when no one was actually there. One day, a random woman stopped by and told us that “this house has known nothing but sorrow”. We had a good time there, ourselves. lol.

Kinda like space aliens, one would think with billions of people on earth, there are so incomprehensibly many opportunities for at least one person to have come forward with irrefutable evidence and proof of their existence. Not so much though.

Take big foot for example. Nobody’s been able to get a non-blurry photograph? I guess it’s possible Mitch Hedburg could’ve been right though - big foot may well just innately be an out of focus monster roaming the countryside.

I remember this being a problem post flood. Graveyard damage with coffins bubbling up and being slightly open due to the damage. I would drive by one on Tiger Bend I believe. Took a while to get to with all the flood damage.
