Nevermind, I see someone referenced beejon's spirit sword earlier in the thread.
quote:

There was a thread on here probably 7-10 years ago where people were talking about ghost and encounters with interdimensional beings. There was a guy or gal on here talking about some serious interdimensional shite going on in their house where they had direct contact with them. The story gave me nightmares because it sounded so believable.

quote:

Wasn’t it BigEdLSU that said he had physical demons sitting on his kitchen counter or something one night.

It was lsutigerinbama's story. This is the thread. (It's locked and anchored.)

And this was his story:
quote:

i didn't try prayers.....i'm pretty sure whatever was in my house wouldn't be scared away by words or a piece of wood. this was an extremely powerful force. now that you got me going into it i really don't even know or care to know if it was a ghost. there are things in this world we do not understand...maybe it was extra dimensional beings that can interact with our dimension.....maybe over lapping dimensions.....maybe my house was positioned in a spot where the laws of physics don't apply....maybe my water supply was tainted with drugs....maybe my neighbor played a 4 month long elaborate hoax...maybe my wife and i simultaneously lost our minds for exactly 4 months and had the exact same delusions....maybe it was a ghost....

all i know was that whatever it was was real....i saw it....felt it..and heard it right in front of me....many many times....

blah thanks now i will not be sleeping tonight lol

quote:

i never believed in ghost stories....

all this stuff....hearing noises, seeing balls of light, stuff moving, seeing apparitions....all of this is easily explainable....plus the human mind can trick itself into all sorts of things....

however, after my experiences i obviously cannot deny that something unnatural or other worldly was going on....

i had very vivid, prolonged, and direct experiences...

quote:

quote:
What you experienced sounds like a demon

yeah like i said i'm a pretty logical person....it certainly was angry, aggressive, and violent towards me and my wife at the end....some of the things we experienced no one would ever believe me...

i don't know....i'm more inclined to believe it could have been an extra dimensional experience....an over lap or something getting through.....at least that is scientifically and mathematically possible...

quote:

i rented a house that ended up being haunted.

it was the worst 4 months of my life. we both saw figures, heard noises, had items move around in plain site. i don't know how to explain it but the stuff above was scary but not threatening. the last month it got really bad and it all escalated. on top of the stuff above we had instances that were violent and what ever it was was trying to hurt us. we got out after that.

me and my wife are both perfectly sane. i realize this is a message board and most won't believe me (understandable). i'm just saying if you are renting just get out. i wouldn't wish the shite we saw on anyone (well almost anyone).

quote:

i'll share the most intense incident.....i didn't really want to get into it in so much detail.....because 1) i don't like thinking about it and 2) no one will believe me so i am essentially just wasting my time and energy lol

so there was "activity" for 4 months.....started off with sounds, things moving, seeing things (like shadows, figures, etc...)...this was freaky but again....not intense...easily explainable...no prolonged experiences.....saw people in my room at night....in parts of the house..images of death...

the last month it all changed....hard to explain but the experiences became prolonged and very vivid....more real and impossible to deny....

i could fill 10 pages with all the stuff me and my wife saw....again most of it was not pleasant...

i can not explain what i saw....i have no wordly thing to compare it to so his will not be a good explanation....imagine a cave man trying to explain being dropped in the middle of an nfl game

anyway the weirdest incident was one night late at night....wife and i were in bed..both woken up...we hear a ZOOM noise downstairs....almost like there was a highway in my kitchen....every light in the house is on...brighter than usual....walk down the stairs...the carpet is soaking wet...get to the base of the stairs and down the hall to the right there is thing huge thing pearing around the corner staring at me and my wife.....we move into the kitchen....there is this black figure at the table....humanoid for sure....i cant see through it but it doesn't look solid either.....the thing down the hall is screeching loudly...the human thing is yelling at me....or feels like it...loud noises that dont sound nice directed toward me and my wife.....behind the human thing at the table its like there is a portal....again i can not put into words what i was seeing...its like i could see into another place but it was here....wife and i ran out down the road and didn't stop until we got to her parents house....went back the next day.....house was back to normal lol...didnt stay there another night.....

again my wife and i have no history of mental instability or drug abuse....

f@#ked up eh?

He was the guy that said there was like a deep guttural growl coming from his lazy boy right? And that they destroyed the chair but never found the source?

The afternoon that my uncle died, I was still in high school living at home, and I was playing around on the family computer. My uncle entered the room (not entirely unusual, he had a come-and-go as he pleased pass at our house) and told me, "Hey, when your dad comes home, tell him to go check up on me." I asked, "Why?" He responded, "I don't want your aunt to find me like this." and then left the room. I got up immediately to follow him but I couldn't find him, I didn't hear the front door shut behind him, and I didn't see his truck. My dad came home a little while later, I passed the message along, and my dad immediately set out for my uncle's house and found him lying dead in one of his hallways.

when it comes to ghosts. i think that shite is hilariously silly. i do love a good horror movie, though. coincidentally, my favorite type are classical ghost type haunting stories... like The Others or even Haunting of Bly Manor. stuff like that is just so great.

Yes, I remember him saying one was a humanoid type, and the others were some bad looking things. I vaguely remember him saying something like his house had water or something all over the floor that woke him up to the shite going on in his kitchen.

My grandfather had passed away back in the 90's. He and my father owned an independent Falstaff distributorship where they had garages around his house where they kept some of the beer trucks. One particular garage had all of his tools and equipment they used to maintain said trucks. They sold the business back in the mid 80's and sold all the trucks and other stuff that was part of the business.

This particular garage had a back door in it that was painted shut and had never been open in years. My grandfather was pretty particular about his tools and he didn't mind me using them as long as I cleaned them and put them back in the right place.

I was in that garage getting crab nets to go crabbing and decided to rummage around to see what I could find. just then a huge gust of wind came out of no-where and blew that back door open and it slammed against the back wall. I just knew it was my grandfather telling me to get the hell out. I closed it and closed the garage door and left.

I worked for a reception hall back in the 80's that was owned by probably the nicest people I've ever worked for. The owner, Mr. Johnny, was diagnosed with colon cancer and died about a year later.

A few weeks after his funeral, his widow was in the house with her granddaughter, who was probably three at the time. She heard her granddaughter talking to someone and she asked who she was talking to, the little girl said Paw-paw, he's standing right there on the stairs.

Another pretty weird story, I work at a hospital in NO that has a huge rehab program. One of our pt's was on this particular rehab in and out for about 7 seven years before he died. He was a workman's comp case, so he had crazy coverage for a hospital stay.

He stayed in his last room for about two years before he finally died. A few months later, a pt who was in that room said a guy named Bruce came to see me in the middle of the night and he told me everything was going to be ok.

The seven-year pt's name was Bruce, and the patient who said it knew nothing about him.

I have never been opposed to the notion. I used to see things when I was a kid when I'd wake up, but that's probably just leftovers from dreams.

I have had one experience, I didn't see a ghost, but I felt the presence of death and it scared the ever loving frick out of me. Paralyzed with fear and unshakeable dread.

I cannot even fully explain this. A few years back, my father in law was on home hospice care for the cancer. I knew the end was very very close, we were on death watch at that point. Everyone was upstairs with him, except me and my brother in law. Bro in law was in a different room. I was in the den, had double french doors to outside with the built in blinds, which were closed. I'm sitting there, no tv on, late at night, just thinking, when I notice the patio light go on and off, and the door shook a few times, light kept going on and off. I immediately thought "I need to lock that fricking door", but then the dread just took over. It was death, and it was trying to get in. I knew that as soon as I approached that door, bad shite was going to happen. I just sat there, terrified. Eventually it stopped, I got up, backed out of the room, again knowing that if I turned my back on it, it was coming in. Eventually I found my bro in law, asked him if he had went out the front door around to the back, and he hadn't.

Father in law passed away the next night. I've only ever told my wife and one of the kids the story. I've never been that scared, ever. and I KNEW it was death.

My take on all this is, we are constantly learning about new things we used to not know about, or understand. Science is just applying what we think we understand and know, to what we perceive.

Look at your smartphone. Ever do a video chat? In theory, you can do that with someone on the other side of the globe. A few centuries ago, most people would find that concept "hilariously silly", as you put it. That's because it involves fields of study not even conceived of at the time.

Now take "the supernatural", which is basically something we rarely ever even perceive. We just don't have the slightest idea what a spirit or soul would even be comprised of, so how would you detect or measure it? But a lack of understanding and knowledge doesn't ensure it doesn't exist, simply means we currently have no clue where to begin.

How about the idea of demonic possession?

Let's take the case of Ted Bundy. What makes a man become such a murderous evil monster? After he was captured for the last time, he claimed he felt like he himself wasn't in control during at least some of his hideous acts. No excuses- he did it- but someone like that makes the idea move a little closer to plausibility....Or, maybe that's just another way to try and find reason for something void of any reason other than he was just an evil bastard....

Well the Catholics believe in the middle ground..."purgatory" which I do believe is where and why we see some encounters. The nicest way I've ever heard it explained is that there are souls reminding us to pray for them so they can get to Heaven.

And yes, I believe, even without seeing.

Don’t believe in that either. There’s no reason to believe that we do anything after death but decompose. No Heaven or Hell, reincarnation, resurrection, or ghostly existence.

I hear you, but I contend we -never- experience or perceive the supernatural. Many see what they want to, but nothing supernatural has ever happened, is my contention.

And let me define supernatural:

That which cannot happen on an infinite timeline as explainable by science. Not to be confused with -extraordinarily rare- events whose timing is impossibly well timed for surprise.

I get that 413 things happening in sequence ALL to make X, Y or Z happen JUST at the right time is a reasonable conclusion that the Almighty sent help (etc). But, a true supernatural event would be something that cannot ever happen within the bounds of science or physics. And to that end, I say no supernatural events have ever happened.

I hear you, and your argument, and I don't think it's 100% absurd to believe in anything supernatural in the context of God, but I myself do not subscribe to that.

Ghosts, on the other hand? As silly as vampires, werewolves, loch ness monster, big foot, etc. (at least the latter two have some semblance of sanity, although absurd none the less)

*edit*

As a matter of fact, it's sort of this whole thing that unseated my faith in the stories we got growing up about religion and the bible. When I fully realized, deep down, that I did not believe in miracles or the supernatural, it was what toppled my house of cards in faith. I still hope, a LOT... and i hope even more that I'm wrong because I believe in a God that sees me and knows my mind and heart etc. I don't wanna die and there be nothing. it's just one of those topics i've given an extraordinary amount of thought about.

i'm all ears if you can prove the supernatural. alas, i've seen no real proof of anything of the sort. and buddy, i have looked.

I think we live in a physical world powered by unseen spiritual warfare of good battling evil. Demonic activity can manifest in many forms. There’s probably credence to the idea that the voices in people’s heads that give people like Bundy the ability to the rationalize harming innocent souls could very well be something more sinister on a deeper level than just a singular individual human acting out his own depraved volitions.

However, it is my understanding that individuals cannot be personally corrupted/influenced/possessed by demonic spirits without an actual invitation. One has to personally consent and open themselves up to the darker energy. Whereas those who are cloaked in the Holy Spirit are off limits to evil spirits.

The exact opposite of how all one has to do to find God’s presence in their life is to sincerely open up their hearts and ask for him to reveal himself in your life thru his own way.

“Ask & you shall receive” is the key to accessing either God’s light or Satan’s darkness for those seeking answers from the spiritual realm.

I’m convinced that there’s something “beyond” and that has helped strengthen my belief in God.

When I was 13 or so in Shreveport I had a dream my dad and I went to an Astros game (we had done so recently). In the dream I got struck by lightning in the parking lot as we were leaving and “died” in my dream. I woke up and there was a glowing beautiful woman standing in my room in a long dress. She waved her arm in three long arches. On the third I was up in bed terrified. She smiled at me and as I got out of bed she disappeared. The whole thing lasted probably 20 seconds.

I don’t know if it was a ghost, a guardian angel telling me everything was okay, or what but now I know that this kind of stuff exists.

Except that from a pure physical science standpoint our living body is quite literally energy. And energy cannot be created nor destroyed. Which imo points to some ever present force our limited minds cannot comprehend had to get the ball rolling or something.

Takes a TON more faith to believe that we are all here by mere cosmic coincidence. That our planet was perfectly positioned next to our star so that we can sustain life. With a moon that is perfectly positioned to orbit around our Earth that helps separate the oceans from land perfectly. That from nothing, came something. And that something from nothing materialized the existence of actual living amoebas. And with time each Amoeba evolved into trillions of unique plants and animals that all coincidentally serve their own unique and important purpose to make a beautifully, and perfectly balanced well oiled machine of an ecosystem.

Talk about walking out on a thin branch of faith! The existence of Earth as we know it is like we hit a one hundred trillion leg parlay to make it happen. Will never understand why this thing we call the world we conscious and living organic things find ourselves in being seen as something that amazingly fell into place from the cosmos by pure random unexplainable chance is a belief adopted by so many now.
