Went to Mt. Baker in Washing last week, that place is a throwback. Tickets were only $65.00 and no crowds. We didn't get any snow but it was sunny and pretty warm which everyone told me was incredibly rare. I would definitely go back and its an excuse to go to Seattle.

Anyone got any lift tickets for Breckenridge they aren't going to use and want to sell?

I have two different boots. Both of which I bought Intuition liners and custom footbeds plus a professional fitting. It was my Christmas present to myself.

For my resort/downhill boot, I wear a Lange RS130. I have tiny feet, and the Lange race boots were basically the only ones that were made in my shell size without going into a softer womens specific boot.

For my backcountry/touring boot, I have a Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro. And it is fricking awesome. It's light. Tours amazingly. And rips on the downhill. Truly a gamechanger for my backcountry skiing.

Interesting. Seeing as how I’ve never been skiing before do people sell lift tickets on a secondary market?

You get a few buddy passes with the Ikon and Epic passes. Some people sell them.

I’ve never bought any but a friend of mine gets them off if craigslist. He’s never been burned.

Today at Jackson was epic. Dumped all day and night yesterday. Turned bluebird this morning. Cannot beat a bluebird pow day with a rotating squad of your buddies! Deepest day of the year by far. And probably my deepest day since skiing in Jackson last year, before I lived here.

I even had to work this morning. Woke up at 3:45am, started grooming the cross-country ski trail on my golf course at 4:30am, off work at 9:30am, and on the hill by 10:00am.

And now its my weekend -- with potential for more snow on the way!

I’m headed to Breck next month for a short trip (3 days is better than none)... anything that I shouldn’t miss while there? Any recommendations for ski shops in the area?

You move from Steamboat to Jackson over the summer/fall?

Avalanche Sports, there's two in Breck, locally owned. Precision Ski & Golf in Frisco. Mountain Sports Outlet in Silverthorne.

Just came back from another awesome trip in Steamboat. Great snow the entire week. I'm really thinking about getting the Ikon pass when they offer them in the spring for cheaper and trying to make two trips out west next year. Not sure why I don't live out there...

Last April. Right after the resorts closed.

I work on golf courses in the turf maintenance side of things. Had a pretty sweet gig in Steamboat, but it was seasonal. Found a year-round full benefits job at a course here in Jackson. Super lucky to have landed where I did. I help groom the nordic trail that is on the golf course in the winter.

I miss a lot about Colorado, especially the Boat, but I really love it here. A lot of people told me it was a tough town to break into social circle wise, but I have found a great group of friends and ski partners. (Doubling my annual income from my seasonal jobs to my new job also makes living in a mountain town a LOT easier.)

Went up to Breck today and got 3 runs in with the kiddos then the wind chased us home. Cold and crusty enough that it wasn't worth staying.

We came up last weekend and I concur. The trails on the east side of the Mtn might just be the best intermediate skiing anywhere. Steamboat is one of my top 3 towns anywhere also. The wife and I keep discussing buying a place there. I have two buddies that call it home and I am jealous af.

We did Epic this year due to the kids getting 16 days for free(Epic school kids). I am doing Ikon base next year. Other than Copper I am over the I70 resorts. We miss WP(did the RM super pass last year) plus we could pull off a couple weekends at the boat, Snowmass, Jackson and the prude resorts in Utah.

Moved out here almost 8 years ago and never ever leaving unless it is to get further into the mountains. I am raising two boys out here and I can't imagine a better place to grow up. We ski over 15 days a year, camp about 30 days plus they know about 6 national parks as well as the back of their hands.

Teton Pines by chance? I know Tim W., an assistant tennis pro there from his days working at Breck Rec Center before he moved up to Jackson to take that job. Played tennis with him a couple of times with my Breck/Summit County tennis friends. My buddy and I actually beat him and another Breck assistant pro in the doubles finals of the USTA Breck tennis tournament several years back. That was a good fun match. He's a good dude.

We did Breck Thurs-Sat last week. My 1st time skiing in 25 years and it was awesome. Weather was great, slopes full of powder, and most importantly no injuries.

Rented from Christy's and it was quick and easy.

The little Main Street area had enough options for everything and the Ice Sculpture area was pretty cool too.

My legs were the worst at end of day 2 but manageable, maybe the Hot Tub at end of every day helped. Or the legal stuff there that helps with inflammation.

I should have tried some of that oxygen as I'm still feeling the altitude effects.

Day two of riding at Solden in Tyrol Austria.

No pics yet but a few things:

They love their apres - getting drunk after the mountaIn closes listening to oompha music.

They don’t give a frick about queuing calmly for the lifts - just pile on in however you want and get in place however you’d like.

Water is just as expensive as beer.
