re: 2017-2018 Season Long Ski Thread - Louie T
This weather is bull shite. I got 6-7 runs in today before lifts were shut due to wind gusts. Main run was moguled by 10:00 AM anyway. Side note: Decent skier (no issue with harder blues & easier blacks) but I'd like to get a lot better. Not dropping the coin on individual lessons... is it worth ta...

re: What do you baws do for a living? - Louie T
An MD's salary, particularly if in the upper 2/3 of specialty comp, will more than make up for the upfront investment to get through schooling and residency. If you can get in, your bigger concern is if you want to be a doctor for 20+ years. ...

re: What do you baws do for a living? - Louie T
I'm not sitting on $25MM. I did have a nice head-start both with financial knowledge and assistance, and I've made good money the first 3.5 years of my career. ETA: I echo the earlier sentiment that if you're already wishy-washy on med school, I'd move on to other alternatives. Have you shadowed ...

re: What do you baws do for a living? - Louie T
This is a pretty timely thread, because I'm on the verge of making the same decision. I'm not overly concerned about money, but my current career path is not pushing the right buttons. I'm enrolled in night classes for spring 2018 to start brushing up on med/dental prereqs. I have a humongous fi...

[quote]What is more likely to me is they are no longer offering the self managed account or no longer allowing contributions to those accounts, but I don't see why any money already there would have to be moved? re: How long to give a job you hate? - Louie T
I'm in a similar situation currently with a job I started the last week of June, but I have a lot of financial incentive to stay one year. I'm applying sparingly to jobs I really want, and I wouldn't hesitate about pulling the trigger. I'll wait until I finish out my year to start hitting the trail ...

re: Private Wealth Mgmt for $25M+ Clients - Louie T
I think you'd be surprised by the number of business grads from non-target schools who haven't any clue about GS or MBB consulting. There isn't exactly a ton of high finance in Louisiana....

re: Private Wealth Mgmt for $25M+ Clients - Louie T
It's not all that beneficial in cities on the opposite end of the spectrum either. I'd eventually like to end up back in New Orleans, but a lot of people in "finance" in New Orleans don't have any clue what GS is....
