Interesting. Seeing as how I’ve never been skiing before do people sell lift tickets on a secondary market?

We used to give day passes to people if I had an unused day or two.

Anyone know if the pre-sold 4 of 5 day passes are transferable?

Teton Pines by chance? I know Tim W., an assistant tennis pro there from his days working at Breck Rec Center before he moved up to Jackson to take that job. Played tennis with him a couple of times with my Breck/Summit County tennis friends. My buddy and I actually beat him and another Breck assistant pro in the doubles finals of the USTA Breck tennis tournament several years back. That was a good fun match. He's a good dude.

Not Teton Pines, but another nearby course. Just down the road from there right at the base of Teton Village. I actually had an informal interview with Teton Pines before I took this other position.

And I have met Teton Pines tennis pro out at the Mangy Moose before, but his name slips my mind. I want to say its the same guy. I seem to remember talking about Colorado with him. He was a good dude indeed.

Just got to S Lake Tahoe today for 12 days of skiing.
They’ve had a lot of snow recently and up to another 48” the next 4 days.

I can’t wait to get on the mountain.

All us married with kids folk on the front range consider any year with double digit days to be a good year.

That looks epic! Somewhere in Europe?

Just got back from a long mission in Grand Teton National Park. Snow was terrible, but knocked off another couloir off the list. We were up in Garnett Canyon right below the South, Middle, and Grand Teton. Gotta love standing amongst Giants.

For real. I am single, no kids. But I’ve only gotten in 8 days thus far. Usually try to go 1 weekend day every other weekend if possible.

Any tips or recommendations?

I'm going to Tahoe from 2/28-3/4. First time skiier. Landing in Reno/Tahoe airport and renting a car. Driving to SLT and staying at Grand Residence Marriott at the base of Heavenly.

It’s been dumping snow the past three days here in Sourh Lake Tahoe.
Think it’s around four feet in three days and not supposed to stop until around noon tmrw.
Lot of wind holds the past two days, especially today.

Tips:
-If there’s a chance of wind holds, then the gondola shuts down before most other lifts.
They’ve always had free shuttles that run from Stagecoach/Boulder and California bases back to the village/gondola, but they shut the bus system down other than a few shuttles that cost $4. The problem is that they’ve gone from a lot of shuttles running all day to just a few small ones. If you get stuck in NV or CA side, you may wait a long time for a shuttle.
-The best green to learn on is at Boulder lodge (Boulder Bowl). It’s long, wide, and flat.
-Food: California Burger, Bass Camp Pizza, Azul Latin Kitchen (try the different tacos), Poké Rok, Sushi Pier (AYCE if you want to pig out and try different sushi), Raley’s Grocery store (deli, hot bar, sandwich bar, sushi options, lots of premade meals; healthy foods), Fire and Ice (same bldg as Marriot; Mongolian grill)
-Everywhere has happy hours and craft beers
-Sports Ltd next door to Raley’s has a large selection of gear/clothes if you need buy anything
-Powderhouse does fourth day free if you’re renting ski gear. Think there’s nine locations.
**Beware of the casinos. They love to take donations.

This is my 16th-17th trip here.
Any specific questions? Food? Nightlife? Casinos?

My main questions are more logistics related.

The landing in Tahoe, getting the car, navigating the drive to SLT if it happens to be snowing/chain control type situation. And then getting back to the airport once the trip is over.

Good news is the divide looks like a pretty hard line between big snow and not big snow. Get over Vail Pass and it shouldn't be too bad.

Ron Swanson going to Heavenly 2/21-26. Duke Silver going right after. Interesting

My question is about the public transportation. I thought they had village shuttles, but I can't really find anything online. Are the busses free or is it only through the city's transportation which charges a fare?
