re: Don't fly AA - iwantacooler
I’ve done it twice with AA. Yesterday, and once I had them move me to a different airport that was just as close to my house but had a better return time. I do agree with everyone else though, they suck. I usually fly them because they are cheap and service the small airports I often fly to. ...

re: Don't fly AA - iwantacooler
If there was a schedule change of more than 60 minutes you should be able to cancel your flight without penalty. Then book new flight. I did this yesterday with AA. Flight was moved back 1:30 a month or two ago. I’ve been watching prices and they went down $200 on another airline. Called AA and...

re: Family Trip Ideas - iwantacooler
Sequoia and Yosemite are awesome. We’ve always done beach, Disney, rinse-repeat. Last year I wanted my kids to start having an appreciation for our national parks, so we went on a road trip and hit several. This year we are driving out to the mighty 5, Mesa verde, sand dunes, black canyon, and...

re: 2019-2020 Season Long Ski Thread - iwantacooler
What about helmets? Last year was my first year to ski and I didn’t wear one. I would say 75% of the people had them on. Would a bike helmet be sufficient, or would I look like a flatland Mississippi hick?...

re: Where do 5 guys in their 60s go for hiking for a week. - iwantacooler
Yosemite. Several great hikes around the valley. The view from the top of Yosemite falls is a religious experience as the sun is coming up. Awesome hikes in Tuolomne meadows area too. Mountains (check) Vistas (check) Lakes (check)...

re: Where to stay Chattanooga - iwantacooler
There are several hotels within a block or two of the aquarium/riverfront area where I’ve stayed before. Marriot, holiday inn, doubletree, etc... All of them are nice, reasonably priced hotels within walking distance of good restaurants and attractions. The Edwin has been suggested. It’s a nice,...

My local liquor store (in MS) keeps it in stock, but they keep it in the back. You have to ask for it at the counter. I often wonder what else they have in the back....

re: Travels with Darley (on PBS) - iwantacooler
I’d never heard of this show until this thread so I gave it a whirl tonight. Watched the Little Rock episode. I agree with both of you. I like the premise and the fact that it’s based on what anyone can do, But Darley does seem like a tard. She seemed awkward and the lines forced. I’m sure I’ll ...

re: Going to take a trip out west San Francisco, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe. Ideas? - iwantacooler
Do it yourself, for the most part. You may be interested in certain tours once inside the park. Something like the valley floor tour. If you are active and like to hike, Yosemite has some good ones. Consider entering the lottery for half dome if hiking is your thing. There are other great hi...

re: When is renting a car for a road trip worth it? - iwantacooler
When I rent it’s usually a week at a time, and from airports. Within the past two years I’ve rented from Sacramento, Bozeman, Sioux Falls, and Sioux City for $250-$300/week. Usually compact cars, once an SUV. I’d think $600/ 2 weeks is reasonable. ...

re: Going to take a trip out west San Francisco, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe. Ideas? - iwantacooler
What time of year? Parts of Yosemite may be closed due to snow depending on when you go. If you like to hike, there are many good ones in Yosemite. I would also try to work in Kings Canyon and Sequoias as a day trip one day from Yosemite. ...
