Our season usually runs from approximately May 15 to October 15. We are private so we have a set close date, other courses will try to stay open depending on weather....

Like you said, unpredictable, but chances are it wont impact your visit too much. There might be a dusting of snow that hits the valley, but it usually doesn't stick around for more than a few hours once it stops snowing. Most lower elevation hiking trails should still be clear, perhaps a little mud...
Someone like this guy. Ask him if he’d be comfortable with it. He’s definitely skilled, just probably not used to engagement shots, but he could do it.
I guessed who it was before clicking the link. This guy is super talented! He seems to shoot anything and everything, really wel...

I'm actually lucky enough to be employed at the golf course FT year round. The course is a cross country ski track in the winter, and I help run the snowcat that grooms the course. ...

re: Going to Jackson hole next week anyone been recently? - bamafan425
Number of cases might be low, but the mandated quarantines are what is affecting the already low staffing levels. I know of a few restaurants that said staff exposure and quarantines were the reason they couldn’t stay open. If I were visiting Jackson I wouldn’t be worried about contracting COVID mys...

re: Going to Jackson hole next week anyone been recently? - bamafan425
I'm a Jackson Hole local and we are seeing a huge surge in COVID cases which has caused quite a few local restaurants and businesses to close back down due to staff exposure and the required county 14 day quarantine for those exposed. We are at near normal summer numbers, but with only a fractio...

Hell yeah. Denver's got some great golf options. I interned at Denver Country Club when I was living there. I'm the asst. super at Shooting Star right at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Found my way into a gig where the course is under snow for six months out of the year. ...

What's up fellas? When is the Golf Board making a trip out to Wyoming? We were under snow a month ago, and now, we're playing golf. Nothing like spring time in the Tetons. ...

re: 2019-2020 Season Long Ski Thread - bamafan425
Spent last weekend camping and skiing in the Gros Ventre Wilderness. Long approach with heavy packs was worth it for the skiing! We scored great snow, and perfect weather. 10 runs off 5 different peaks. You can see our turns on the peaks behind our camp. Didn't see another soul all weekend. Kept...

re: Jackson Hole in early October - bamafan425
Jackson local here. I think early October is a great time to visit if you just set your expectations accordingly. It could be snowing, or it could be perfectly sunny and perfect. It could be beautiful fall colors, or all the leaves could be gone and it can be quite drab/brown before the winter snow....

Best day of my life on skis yesterday. Was able to ski one of the classic Teton ski mountaineering test pieces. Deep, stable powder in the wildest place I've ever ski'd! The skinny line on the left side of this top third of the full couloir that we ski'd [img]https://i.imgur.com/JbbNeF4.png[/...

Wow. Yesterday was deep, but today at Jackson is gonna be insane. Came into plow at the shop this morning and we had about 10-14" of snow in the valley. They reported 18" in the last 24 hours and 10 overnight. I bet theres been 3+" inches since the report. Februburied! :nana: :nana: :nana:...

re: 2019-2020 Season Long Ski Thread - bamafan425
Received an invitation to join a small ski expedition to the coastal mountains of British Columbia this April. A helicopter operation out of Whistler-Blackcomb will drop us off at basecamp for 5 days in a mountain range that has seen very little to no ski traffic. So we're expected to be making firs...
