Yesterday was some of the deepest snow I've ever ski'd at Jackson Hole. 2020 has been kind to the Tetons so far. :nana:...

Cadwallader Range. Looks like there are a bunch of peaks named after the Lord of the Rings  Zahan Billamoria is leading the expedition, and he's a certified all-around badass. Lead Exum guide and heads safety on big missions for TGR. We got linked up with him after talking to him at an avala...

Received an invitation to join a small ski expedition to the coastal mountains of British Columbia this April. A helicopter operation out of Whistler-Blackcomb will drop us off at basecamp for 5 days in a mountain range that has seen very little to no ski traffic. So we're expected to be making firs...
bamafan425 - have you ever skied The Skillet on Mt. Moran? For some reason or another, I'd really like to give that one a go one day. However, on my trips to J Hole, it is always difficult to (1) find willing co-participants, and (2) take a few days to do it.
I have not. My two p...

Checking in. I've taken the touring skis out for two small skins with my new doggo. Getting her used to the snow and skis more than actually making turns. Theres snow up high in Jackson Hole. I've seen plenty of people out finding some really good snow. I'm focused on my endurance training over goin...

Who's still skiing? I'm still skiing. Yesterday was an all-time day, even though it was kind of shitty weather. I worked at the golf course from 6:45-noon. Rode the summer tram and ski'd Four Pines sidecountry while staring at my golf course below. Then I went and played 16 holes of golf back at ...

Took a friend out to Grand Teton National Park to ski the same couloir I ski'd with my ski mountaineering course guide last week. It was special and surreal experience to be able to lead my friend through his first ski rappel. Something special about moving through the mountains this way. Ready for ...

Yesterday was one of the best days Ive spent in the mountains. We finally got the schedule and weather to go out for the first day of a three day ski mountaineering course with an Exum Guide. My buddy and I were lucky enough to be able to book a two person private class for regular price. First ...
I’m in Bend ORE now. No freshies but have been getting a decent tan in the bluebird slush after a slight mishap involving dodging tree well suffocation, out of bounds riding and an eventual death hike back to the parking lot. Y’all stay safe.
Scary stuff. Glad you made it out. ...

High pressure system means big lines in the backcountry. Able to check off the West Hourglass on Nez Perce today. Picture was from back at the beginning of February when we got turned away from the line because of thin coverage. A historic month of snow filled it in, and it ski'd all the way through...
I must be the only one that doesn’t get the hype. I was there for 4 hours and got tired of it
I think it really depends on your skiing ability. I find that if you are beginner-intermediate, the Basin runs out of terrain, especially groomed terrain, quickly. Even advanced skiers c...

I don’t blame a single Ikon Pass holder. I would buy it if it worked in my favor. I was an Epic pass holder when it made sense for me. I do blame the mountain. No one else. I’ve told that to any Ikon Passer I’ve encountered where the discussion came up. But I’ve also explained why everyone is hating...
People always find something to bitch about.
This is undeniably true in mountain towns, especially. And Jackson locals are the worst about it -- "Jackson sucks, tell your friends." However.... Jackson Hole Season Pass-holders pay anywhere from $1300 (discount through local ...

Jackson just keeps getting hammered! I was supposed to start a 3 day ski mountaineering course tomorrow, but our guide postponed because of high avy danger. So I guess I'll just go ski some deepness at the resort!...
Baws, how easy is it to mount and adjust your bindings? Current skis have about 100 days on them. Time for something new. Being in LA no place for tuning.
It's a pain in the arse without the right equipment. It requires an expensive mounting "jig" for the specific brand of binding...

This week in Jackson Hole was insane. About of a foot of heavy, wetter snow on Sunday. Spitting rain down in town. Then a DUMP overnight on Sunday into Monday morning for another 12". And then another DUMP overnight Monday night into Tuesday morning. By Tuesday morning, town was running out of place...
