Just curious.

Wanted to comment on Trump's personal cell phone article but I couldn't, so instead I had to send an email.

They know better than to allow comments.

I think they got their asses handed to them a few too many times before when they screwed up the story, so they want to head that off at the pass.

Most websites like that should disable comments. It’s nothing but a total shitshow that serves no purpose

With the amount of power the left has attributed to Russians, it's amazing they haven't taken over the world and led us into our rightful place in the galactic community.

When you are in the business of trying to push a narrative... comments from the targets are counter productive.

Funny, isn't it.....just a few years ago it was Russia for the right.

no no no

the 1980s called and they want their foreign policy back

Obama assured us that thinking of Russia as a threat was only for idiots. a literal comic effort

this doesn't mean that "the right" doesn't see Russia as an enemy/issue today (Which is your assumption)

This is the reason CNN land other MSM outlets are moving away from comments. Many of the comments are worthless crap, but many are good and insightful. Often they reveal the BS the article is trying to peddle.

I no longer read articles without comments. If the author is not willing to subject the article to the comments of the readers, it is not an article worth reading.

Comments are a cesspool on most news websites. They probably got sick of policing them.

This isn't a left/right issue either. THe comments from left leaning people can be just as vicious as the right.

They got rid of comments on articles right around the time of the Trayvon Martin case.

I have been noticing this on some websites lately and wanted to read the comments/comment myself only to be let down.. I ended up e-mailing the author as well.

I greatly appreciate this response. The only slate I have now is having to access the article a second, or even multiple times now just to comment, on various platforms and thus giving them more "views" and increasing their popularity, which is what I refuse to do due to there irrational oppossing views, selected topics of "news" and asinine propaganda.

My email will be deleted and my voice not heard. Impeding my freedom of speech, but not preventing. I'm sure if a petition was introduced, with a vast number of signatures, they would allow "conversations" or "comments" similar to other news sites. That's how the far-right accomplishes things, right?
