Plot twist - Paxton is actually a good candidate.

He is also like all political people and a POS in his personal life.

It’s called a two party system. Both sides get a shite sandwich and we the people have to deal with it.

Grassroots movements are dead I guess. Being real and winning the people over organically is DOA in DC(National) politics for the most part.

Is it a surprise? So many conservatives pout and go home when they don't get everything they want. It's hard to build a movement that way.

Become a rational adult, accept that you won't get everything, and build on the momentum instead of giving up.

It's not hard, but you would rather burn it all down just because the winning candidate isn't a saint. You guys care more about virtue signaling than protecting the country, and that's why your grassroots movements never win. You abandon it as soon as you don't get everything your way.

I voted for Paxton yesterday. I don’t know if I like him that much but I’ll never vote for a democrat.

Huh? He wasn’t “picked” by the TX GOP. Trust me they would have picked someone else. He was elected in the primary. Blame voters?

I would have done the same if I lived in Texas. Hell I don’t give a frick who it is, if they are running against a dumbocrat I’m voting for them.

Republicans are trying to save this country, that’s all I need to know in order to vote.

I can't get past the way he handled Sorsby. I don't live in Texas though, so it doesn't really matter what I can't get past.

Yep this is our biggest fault.

That is why decades ago I adopted the rule = "vote for the least evil candidate"

I know we'll never find perfection - especially when the media is so tilted to the left, there will always be a plethora of 'badness' about any GOP candidate and not a word about any of the feckless, criminal DEM candidates.

Great question. And the answer is…

After 30 years of state control, Texas GOP just assumed that there is no accountability. So it doesn’t matter how terrible their candidates are.

Most are not terrible, but Paxton is!

Paxton has been a great attorney general. Talarico is a pure political animal Just look how Talarico has changed his message to hide his flaws. Paxton isn't hiding from his flaws and his ex-wife has all but endorsed him.

How people can look at a absolute freak like Talarico and think he should be senator is beyond me.

That's the message that Democrat underground is trying to obfuscate on this site.

You should talk to Graham Platner.

Refusing to debate is the definition of hiding from his flaws.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but maybe that’s where the disconnect is. Respectfully.

Because they just think anyone with an R by his name will win.

At some point it is going to bite them in the arse in Texas.

you have to step back and admire the double standards.

Objectively, James Talarico makes Ken Paxton look like George Washington, yet you don't see dems in Texas trying to sabotage his candidacy. In fact, you have old neocons supporting the most radical leftist to run for public office in the history of the Republic out of pure spite.

Why do Republi-CANTS track out the majority of the candidates they do? Most often the 'best' candidate does not run because of the 'process' and the 'system'. Sadly, Paxton could be the brother of Satan and he would still get my vote over his opponent.

Jungle primary and let best 2 candidates fight it out in the general election.

Jungle primaries should be unconstitutional. The point of a primary is so that members of a Party can choose a candidate to represent the Party in the general election. Doing so actually gives voters a real choice between parties and their candidates. Jungle primaries cause what we’re seeing in California where the dominant party effectively locks out any opposition from running in the general.
