FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt released his latest College Football Playoff predictions this week, and he believes LSU can make the 12-team field despite finishing with three losses.

Klatt has Lane Kiffin's Tigers earning the No. 11 seed with a 9-3 record, predicting LSU will pick up some big wins down the stretch. The Tigers would face No. 9 Utah in Salt Lake City in the first round.

"LSU is in at 9-3. I do think a 9-3 team gets in this thing," Klatt said. "Look for them to get a couple of big wins late in the season as they begin to play better."

LSU (6-2) has won its last two games in dominant fashion and still faces Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

And this is why the expansion to a 24 team playoff is needed.
Nobody really cares anymore if you win your confererence and go undefeated during the regular season; LSU did that in 2011 and came away empty-handed and forgotten, even here (an SEC site). Alabama didn't win their division that year, but won the national championship.

This isn't just coming from an LSU fan, we're just the perfect example of a portal-built team that may lose early on, but finish as the best team in the sport by the end of the season.
