No way would they put a General in Ukraine. Yes we put CIA in there to train them on weapons, but a General is another animal.
There would be no legitimate or realistic reason to justify this.
Now, maybe if you want to escalate things you send him over there and don't hide his presence and tempt Russia to take him out.
This would be utter treachery if an administration, military, CIA, did this. Of course it has been argued before that our govt and military have done this sort of thing before, such as allowing Pearl Harbor to happen and even 9/11.

So SAD and SF guys have been in country since way before this kicked off and have been there the whole time. All of the Ukrainian artillery and drone operations are being ran by Americans.
I am sure it is a very blurry line but there is active US guys who have been fighting.
From what I've heard from some who have had offers to go over there. The US guys are being given control of basically contractor groups completely separate from Ukrainian military. Basically the US guys are leading/coordinating whole contractor forces.
Forces being small special contingents.

Oh yea I am not talking about a 3 star being there, that would be crazy, just saying Americans are having a far greater hand in this than most people are letting on.
On another note, if you are a contractor, the $ they are offering is better than any since the heyday of Iraq. All backed by our taxpayers, literally part of the pitch.

Zero possibility a 3-star was fighting on the ground.
Maybe some Spec Ops, Lt Col/Col who was advising, but even that would be surprising that they got captured.

I was going to ask, who is paying these Blackwater type entities? Uncle Sam? If so, that is pretty messed up we can just wage war wherever with subcontractors, but I'm not surprised.
