I saw a podcast or article on this but haven't had time to look into it. The headline though was leading to a negative impact.

We have also seen this happen in SW Wisconsin.

Go read the thread about who killing duck for context on my comment.

One of the few things I am glad government is going to regulate. It is insane some of the percentage of rentals owned by corps in the major cities.

I know, I mean top wildlife officials in general.

I wish they would be equally concerned about the plummeting duck numbers.
I will say the impact of high density and widespread contagion is being seen in Wisconsin on mature bucks and herd size.

Wonder if the share club owners are getting nervous.

Why is that? Herd size is down?

I am interested to see how that well comes on. There is still a ton of gas on the shelf/coast and DW GOA. Sustained good NG prices would help a lot in pick up of activity.

Yes, at this point there is enough data and consistent surveys to prove the numbers are down from historical numbers. I think they are even lower than that though.

Quick hijack, what do yall think a 30x60 metal building on slab would cost? Ballpark on minimum cost, not insulated. .

I would argue we are already there in a lot of areas.
re: Anybody plant lab lab in a spring food plot in SW Ms?

With the cost I would just do cow peas (iron & clay) and maybe plant something with it to crawl up and give cover from the deer until the can branch out.

Population is going down in places you don't want to live.
Lafayette, Mand/Cov, St Francisville etc. All have increasing pops.

I would say that is the case. Which is why now a lot of the Midwest states are making it considerably more expensive and tougher to go there often or even buy properties there.

I would not be mad at all to see a limit and days decrease for awhile.

The comment about the wood cock count I am assuming is referring to the flyway moving. I agree that has happened but you can go talk to guys who live and hunt in Kansas, eastern CO, MO. They all have said the drop off in numbers the last 3-4yrs has been very noticeable. It's not just the MS flyway that is seeing a decline in numbers.

While I think you are spot on with your assessment. I still think another huge factor is the real duck numbers are a lot lower than stated. This has been discussed in here before but the system for estimating duck populations is very flawed. Add in avian flu that has been rampant for over 3 years now and the actual numbers are a lot lower than stated.
