Bloomberg was already portraying this as some kind of North Korean style famine

Yet those people losing food stamps are by and large the fattest people in world history.

He who does not work does not eat.

The only way to save our society is to get rid of all of these government hand out. I'm not talking about disabled, truly disabled people. Able bodied people should not be receiving handouts on a long term basis. People who do not pay taxes shouldn't be receiving a "refund."

Yep. Pretty crazy how we've progressed to the point where being morbidly obese is generally a sign of being poor.

Here's what everyone needs to realize: Out of all the billions of dollars that we pay in taxes, that are being allocated to food stamps, Only 20% actually makes it to a recipient. 80% of the money is spent in administration and disbursement fees. Who the frick, do you think is getting that money?

Food stamp program, is a sacred cow with a lot of milk.

We don't need to be mad at the people who get food stamps, we need to be enraged at the fricking people handing them out. You will always need to put more people on the program, as more people jump in to profit from running it.

If people reformed their communities they would never need to government.

Welfare and other hand outs replace social interaction that leads to people getting help from people they know.

Our poor are fat and have cell phones and rent rims for their cars.

It’s amazing.

Hey progs, tell me about food deserts.

Good. If you're dependent upon food stamps in this economy, you simply refuse to work. To those who are actually disabled (the few that actually aren't working the system), food stamps should be available.

Only liberals would frame the best economy in four generations as a bad thing. Literally every American that wants a job can find one right now.

A couple of billion people overseas would kill their mother to be 'poor' in the USA.

I hope misfortune never befalls you or your family to where you need food stamps. Of all the bloat the government absolutely has, helping to feed the poor wouldn’t be my first choice to put the scalpel. No doubt many celebrating this go to church every Sunday to worship a guy who would be absolutely ashamed of those mocking the poor and their struggles. When you get to the pearly gates I wonder how this will look when people were hungry and you celebrated the idea of not helping.

Actually anyone against this is enslaved by the government and is dependent upon it for their well being. To me...that's hell. I wouldn't want to be there...but there are some that continue to choose that path.

Which is 10.8 million less than Obama's last year in office.

That is roughly $16.5 billion less spent on food stamps in 2015 as today.
