That is because critical theory has nothing to do with "understanding."

In fact, critical theorists abhor actual understanding

Critical theory is a way of examining society. It's not a conclusion.

They are instead dependent upon mindless rote in assignment of oppressor categorization. That is, unfortunately, what we see evidenced in this thread by GreatLakes, and the others. There is no analytical thought. There is no logic or reason. There is only mindless application of an oppressor philosophy.

Respectfully, you haven't provided any analysis to support your sweeping claims about critical theory.

but you'd have to make the case that the ancient Greeks, or others on the list, were Boomers

Let's see. Being a homo was literally illegal less than a century ago. It was aggressively normalized in the last half century.

Culprit - Greeks and Romans.

Yeah, dude, you're a retard. BTW, there was no such thing as 'the Greeks' and being a homo was far from widely accepted.

Guess which generation of academics created the false narrative that you just cited. Come on, guess.

And you guys will never straighten it out because of third world illegal immigration and the "legal" immigration of people destined to blow this thing up.

I am a 36 year old with a PhD in Philosophy. I am $450k in debt and currently working two minimum wage jobs in order to stay alive. I work alongside 18 year olds and whenever they ask about my background I just tell them I've been in prison for a long time, which is less embarrassing than admitting the truth. I am probably the most well-informed Husserl scholar on the North American continent, perhaps in the world. My 1,500 page biography of his life has been rejected several dozen times. No college will take me on since they don't think Husserl is relevant, and that other applicants are therefore pushed to the head of the line. I have had 6 Husserl-related papers published in different journals and philosophical quarterlies, but have earned no money or recognition for having done so. I just moved to Abbeville, Louisiana since there is a job opening at the university in Lafayette and I decided to go all out in order to get it. But I've just found out that my application was rejected and now I'm stuck working at a Wendy's three shifts a week and a Barnes & Noble the rest of the time. I have no wife, no children, and at this point no friends I'm willing to talk to due to the shameful nature of my existence.

Marx, Mao, Pol Pot and Hitler do well enough to support the claims.

Critical theory is a way of examining society. It's not a conclusion.
That is diametrically opposite to the truth.

Critical thinking makes an observation and attempts to provide an explanation for it.

Critical theory arrives at a conclusion, then attempts to contrive facts to support it.

In reality boomers are dying off quickly. I hope the succeeding generations have had enough kids so their children will hate them.

Those that will write the legacy of the Boomer generation haven't been born yet.

I guess if you are going to use an "oppressor" analysis, as least identify the correct oppressor. Most of the problems such as Social security, medicare, the welfare state (pre-boomer Democrats) and illegal immigration (pre-boomer Biden) were not caused by boomers.

Obama did federalize the student loan program, which has resulted in the student loan problem, so I'll give you that one.

With immigration, Biden was just the cherry on top (and boomers voted him in)

America’s demographic decline during the boomer’s reign as the most powerful demo is undeniable.

The legacy of Boomers is being the most greedy, entitled, and selfish people on planet earth. That is how they will be remembered.

Yikes! That's literally the equivalent of saying there were/are no such thing as Indians, relating to American aboriginals

Reference social habits and well documented (contemporary Greek sources) in Athens, Thebes, Sparta, Corinth, etc or ancient Greek writings, e.g., about Lesbos

Guess which generation of academics created the false narrative that you just cited. Come on, guess.
That would be the Greek academics and artisans themselves. Then again, there is no need to guess.

Biden's lowest vote % by age was in the >65-year-old age group.
You obviously knew that in advance of posting your bullshite troll.

Nonetheless, you are making a MidwestTiger-level fool of yourself here.

My suspicion is he's a simple troll. The concerns he posts in this thread are neither truthful, fact-based, or even rational.

Critical thinking and critical theory aren't competing methodologies.

You mention oppressors often when admonishing critical theory. Is your contention with critical theory that it doesn't shy away from identifying who benefits and who suffers within particular systems?
