Energy costs is the key to almost everything economy related. It's what makes the world go around. Lower energy = less to make/process/distribute = Lower inflation = more disposable income = more purchases = more productivity, and it keeps on turning.
High energy is a tax and grind on everything.
You're not much of an investor are you? And if you are you probably invest super conservative just like women do, huh?

unless SS is "reformed" (aka a payroll tax increase from 12.4% to ~15%),

This might not necessarily be the first step. Nor will raising retirement age be a first step.

IMO I think the next step is going to be raising the limit on the Social Security taxable wage base for 2026 from $184,500 to a couple of million dollars, or just delete the limit. A 12.4% tax on all earnings with no cap.

Yes, Bobby Layne and Kenny Stabler would never dream of having a few libations days before a game.

Hell, Bobby Lane threw a complete game 2-hitter while drinking beer in the dugout between innings while at Texas. Coach placed a cooler of beer at end of the bench for Lane to help ease the pain from an automobile accident the night before, it worked.

BTW, the injury from the accident the night before was self inflicted when he wrecked his car while driving drunk.

Marcel Reed ain't no Bobby Lane or Snake Stabler.

In you example of paying into and payout of the SS system...in addition to the inflation of money, does it factor in if year one and every subsequent year were invested in a simple interest earning account?
For instance the man's first year is invested in a cd, 2nd year, 3rd year and so on. What would the value of all those years be after 46 years? Assume a 4% annual interest rate. Of course it could be any investment medium, but use 4% cd for discussion.

And another thing, your copy/paste didn't say if the employee pay in also includes the matching employer contribution. Employee portion on the check is only half of what he's really paying in. If not for SS the employee would see his portion and the additional employer portion on his check.

Maybe they think that the computer warfare will be so advanced that computer systems will be shut down and everything will be dumb.

I wouldn't be surprised if the US Navy hasn't already created a localized EMP weapon that could be directed at an enemy ship or base and fry every transistor. This would indeed make weapons about as dumb as a sword.

All military equipment built today should have hardened chips .
20 years ago I worked on design upgrades to a small chip R&D site that was developing microchips that would use water molecules as switches in the transistors. These types of chips would not be vulnerable to EMP. They were also experimenting on biological chips.

Will not save money. Money will just be spent somewhere else, probably to some fraudulent program. Repay the money to social security recipients that have been paying all their working life.

Buster comes out with the elusive and rare non-dido or fagatry post!
Not defending Klein, but the ending is almost always like this when the OC is a former QB. They're always putting the last plays to win a game on the QBs arm, and rarely rely on the O-Line and a running backs legs. Almost always theyre calling the QB fantasy ending.

Exception allowed when less than a minute with no time outs.
Those pass calls are ultimately on Elko. Strong HC will tell OC to run the ball when needed, like Saban for example.

Do the Aggies still have that fake NC trophy that doesn't have a date on it?

Nope, it's in a display case at a bar/hamburger joint called "Dirty Martin's". Located on the drag at UT Austin across the street from campus boundary.

Edit: OK, that's really a replica, nobody knows what happened to the original. Many suspect Jimbo Fisher has it and uses it as a paper weight for incoming aggy checks.
...the Dirty Martin replica and possession is a better story though.
So 315,000 filled in ballots fall off a truck somewhere and end up in the pile of ballots to be counted? Nobody signed for them, nobody knows where they came from, but let's count them anyway?
Sigh.

Maybe that means whorns really DIDN'T deserve to be in the CFP?

Maybe not, but Texas beat both OU and aggy.
And seems like Reed is chucking it as hard as he can.
Miami should have used a time out to make aggy punt into the wind. Now they'll punt with it.

Whheeell Doggies stitchop, you're 2 for 2 with the goofy posts.
I suggest you start your day drinking much much earlier than you have today, or much much later.

For a refresher. Trooper makes no effort to at least acknowledge or sidestep players. As for players, #28 attempts to turn shoulders to allow trooper to pass, #8 makes no effort, but appears to be looking out into the field.
DPS (Department of Public Safety) Trooper gets his knickers in a twist by his reaction. Aggy gonna be guilty by association, and no apolopgy or update on investigation issued yet.

Not that bad actually. Can't stop those going to the NFL. With the exception of Owens, those in the portal are easily upgraded by upcoming recruits or portal. Funding of those leaving looks real good to established players (Jadan Baugh) coming from other teams.

BTW, even Trey Owens is being replaced with 4/5 star QBs. I just think he'd have done well if given more playing time. I'll continue to follow him and hopefully he lands with a good team with a line and an OC. Ole Miss, you need a QB?
