The goal post has shifted. No longer a jury of your peers. Now it's a jury of your race

I have not yet read the full trial transcript. But so far, I do know this. Karmelo Anthony was entitled to a jury of his peers. He did not get that. On that ground alone, he is entitled to a new trial. Minorities are not interchangeable. The prosecutor’s reported proffered reasons for striking all black jurors —that they were teachers—appears to be pretext. Anthony needs a new lawyer on appeal and in a new trial. His trial lawyer allowed in opinion evidence that should have been struck. He also seemed unable to appreciate and counter the impact of racial overtones in that case. Those overtones are clear even on Twitter commentary as folks seek to paint Metcalf as having no culpability in what happened and Karmelo as a complete monster. The facts on how the matter escalated are more complicated than that. He and they had no such authority. They are also apparent in the statements that seek to deputize Metcalf and other kids with authority to remove Anthony. They had none and initiated the conflict. That does not mean they should have been killed but it means they have explaining to do. The lawyer for Anthony apparently did not require that explaining. It is fair to ask how the Anthony’s ended up selecting that lawyer.
The trial judge must be disqualified in any new trial if he actually gave an interview about the case before the appeal was considered. He has negatively affected the appeal rights of the defendant. He should know better. He should also be disqualified if he has any relationship with the Metcalf side.
In a criminal trial, the prosecution has the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. The defendant does not have to prove he is not guilty. Those rules apply to everyone. They apply to Anthony.
Personally, I would be OK with being guaranteed an all-white jury if I were ever to have to face one, but a few things about this.
1. She is a Harvard Law professor poisoning the minds of young people with her bullshite, and a good example of no longer making it impossible to fire tenured professors.
2. I don't think black people understand what happens to a lot of them if we start segregating all aspects of society again, but they keep pushing for it. If we segregate all portions of society, then we should be able to vote that our tax dollars are only spent on white interests, asian interests, etc. MLK BLVDs everywhere would be abandoned by any white support and become worse than they already are.

They want control but not responsibility.
Kind of like them taking over cities or school systems then blaming whitey for money fleeing areas which are no longer in their interests.

It’s all so exhausting. How much of our collective national energy, money, and time is spent on these people?

Rodney King ring a bell?
I’m sure there are earlier examples that could be found.
ETA: my comment is about King and the officer’s trial being moved as a flashpoint in our history and the reaction at the time was the same as what you’re seeing with karmelo. The assumption was that a predominantly white juror wouldn’t be able to find the officers guilty before a trial ever took place. All because the jury would look like more like the defendants and less like Rodney. We aren’t seeing anything new in regards to how the black community views trials like these. The assumption is “racism” when things don’t go their way.

I'm ready for Grok jury.
Before the verdict... people were asking grok to analyze the proceedings and determine guilt or not guilty.
Person after person after person did this.... Grok said guilty

It’s 2026 and not 1956. Individual accountability and responsibility for your actions should rule the day. Some folks will never see it that way through their victimization.

Welp, so much for the last 60 years of tolerance & equality

They want black jurors because they believe black jurors are
1) Tribal
2) More sympathetic to violent tendencies
That’s quite an admission when you think about it.

Blacks were actively dodging serving on this jury, going as far as saying they couldn’t put a “young brotha” behind bars.

There's scads of them on X trying to educate their skinfolk on jury nullification... and lying to get on juries.
It's gross.
If they want "juries of their peers"- fine... stay in your own "neighborhoods of your peers" to commit violent crime.

It's only a matter of time before "lived experience" is used in an attempt to buttress this tripe. But why stop at race? How about gender, age, IQ level, athletic ability, height, weight and hair length?
Once you start parsing "peers" by physical characteristics you are either doing it only to get the jury response you want or you're going to go down an endless rabbit hole,

60+ years of trying to appease, placate and treat people as people doesn’t seem like it’s gonna work for the oppressed and put upon folk.

Yes. The problem is the jury. The problem is the judge. The system. The white kid. It’s everyone else’s fault other than the guy who stabbed an unarmed person.
This is the world we live in now. Give me free shite. Let me do what I want. Let me stab people or frick you, you’re a racist. I’m black. I don’t have to play by any rules.
We can’t allow this shite anymore.

They had their chance to have 3 black jurors but they basically disqualified themselves because they admitted they would have trouble convicting a black person.
It’s not that white people wont fairly judge a black person, but that the average black person cant be trusted to fairly judge another black person.

I am not what your implying, but Rodney got the absolute shite beat out of him by those cops.
They should have gotten more than 30 months.

Harvard is a clown school at this point. They let Dei drive it to where anyone that is serious shouldn’t respect it.
I’m a bit surprised that people with real Harvard degrees aren’t raising hell.

There are white male posters on this board who advocate for those very things. Namely tboy, Decatur, RFK, Byron Bojangles, Burt Reynolds, Hank, etc.

Jason Whitlock suggested that blacks who refuse to assimilate into civilized society be given tracts of land (reservations) where they can live within their own laws and system of justice.
If they believe a shove is a license to murder someone, fine. Just keep that shite on your own land.
