Judging from your political beliefs and sky screaming, I'm betting you were born long after the 1980s

Do you remember a little thing called Chernobyl in 1986? It was the catalyst behind the collapse of the Soviet Union, and places like Kiev and its suburbs are still enduring its ravages to this day.

If you don't know the difference between the Soviet's reactor in Chernobyl and every other reactor in the US, you should probably not bring it up as some argument against nuclear power...

I can’t tell if you people are mentally infirmed or just trolling. Seriously.

Because no sane person thinks the way y’all do, and posts the way y’all do.

Can someone explain to me why something that occurs naturally, and has occurred numerous times in the history of the planet, is now a bad thing?

Shite happens, but everything before or after me is unimportant.

I give you a 5000 year breakdown and you talk about how things were better in your youth. Hint, things were better for you in your youth says everyone!

don't get me started on the ravages of Harvey last August.

So Harvey was the first hurricane ever? C’mon man, get a clue!
The 1715 Treasure Fleet was a Spanish treasure fleet returning from the New World to Spain. At two in the morning on Wednesday, July 31, 1715, seven days after departing from Havana, Cuba, eleven of the twelve ships of this fleet were lost in a hurricane near present-day Vero Beach, Florida. 1715 was during the coldest part of the little ice age.

You’re living the Y2K disaster life!

As religion has lost favor in the West, a new pantheon has taken over Science and Nature have become the good gods and distopia stories and Global warming became the devils.

Remember when we saved the ozone layer in the 80s. We no longer spray, or foam, or cool with CFCs, but the Hole that will kill us, is still there. And yet you aren’t dead!

BS cost me an extra $600 to convert my car’s A/C and my kids a trip to Disney! Now my fast food hamburgers get smashed and cold in paper wrappers instead of styrofoam boxes! And the hole is still there, and I’m still not dead. I miss the memories with my children that environmental morons cost me, and my hot uncrushed burgers!

remember back in the 1970s and 1980s, in metro Houston (where I currently reside, and where I resided back then) it was not uncommon to experience entire summer seasons without even one 100+ degree day.

The 1980 heat wave says hi!
quote:

Houston’s June high-temperature average is 90.7 degrees. But in June ’80, said Roeseler, the high-temperature average soared to 96.3 degrees. Things only got worse in July, with two straight weeks of record-setting 100-plus days beginning on July 6. The top July temperature — 104 degrees — was recorded at Intercontinental Airport on three days that month. July 1980’s average high reached 99.4 degrees, up 5.8 degrees from the month’s normal average high.

And let’s remember, those numbers don’t include humidity and aren’t the “real feel” temps.

Why you always Lyinnn

This should go well. Not that anyone here will bother reading the article.

I read it. The first part at least , since it's a 2 parter.

Quote: It was understood that action would have to come immediately. At the start of the 1980s, scientists within the federal government predicted that conclusive evidence of warming would appear on the global temperature record by the end of the decade, at which point it would be too late to avoid disaster.

Welp.

Things were still on the way towards a common sense resolution before Clinton/Gore.

I regret that the environment had such a hysterical gas-bag as Al Gore trying to scam the world for his own profit. Mother Nature deserves better

Yea, I remember that summer of '80. It was pretty rough. I remember the rear windshield of my '75 Nova spontaneously shattering from the excessive heat (always be sure to crack open the car windows a bit!) and the asphalt on Cutten Road being so hot it liquified and wouldn't support a jack I was using to switch out a flat tire!

However, back then 1980 was an outlier for hotness. The rest of the 1980s, and most of the 1990s, were "cool" in comparison to the scorching summers of the last 10 years, whereby 1980-type temperatures have become the New Normal.

Between you and me, I made the environment worse in the 80s, and more than a little.

Anytime I put freon in my car's AC, I used the leftover freon in the can to freeze a tennis ball and play fetch with the dog.

Did you ever hear of any oil recycling places in the 80s? Me neither, but I changed my own oil all the time. Ask me how I disposed of the used stuff.

More people have died in Ted Kennedy's car than in US nuclear plant accidents.

So is this the lie or was your previous post of it “never getting over 100” the lie? I mean, you do know that you can go and look at the records and they just prove your “memory” wrong....

And again, for the third time. Care to expand on your claim that Chernobyl ended the Soviet Union

And like a fart in the wind, "poof" he's gone. Only to return later, completely ignoring any questions that stumped him, comments that proved how full of shite he is, or holes that were punched in his logic.
