Salute to Mississippi State & LSU

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that both Louisiana State University (LSU) and Mississippi State University have been designated as new "Distinguished Military Colleges".
The announcement was made on September 30, 2026, during an address at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia. Rather than a sports matchup, the announcement names LSU and Mississippi State alongside Liberty University, Tuskegee University, and Hillsdale College as part of a new Department of War/Pentagon initiative to expand America's Corps of Cadets and officer training programs.
