What's stopping the Taliban from launching mortars at the runway? Are they trying to pull an NVA and let the westerners leave before the public executions start?
So whatever they're doing and whatever the reason, it doesn't appear they're going all out to frick up the evacuation process.

Are the Americans still at the airport or have we gotten them out?

They know if they start bombing American planes we will fight back. If they simply fight afghani’s we will leave. They want us gone, not to kill us… yet

The UK’s ambassador to Afghanistan remained in Kabul on Sunday night, as the embassy frantically worked to help British and Afghan nationals flee the country.
Officials were left stunned by the speed at which the Taliban took control of the Afghan capital, leaving the embassy scrambling to pull dozens of its staff and thousands more Afghan allies out of the city.
The Foreign Office (FO) said ambassador Sir Laurie Bristow had stayed behind to help orchestrate the evacuation of remaining Britons. It is understood he is personally processing visa applications at the airport.
The US ambassador fled days ago.

The UAE also crammed at least one of their C-17s to capacity yesterday in Kabul as well.
They loading up on more slave labor?

I do wonder about those Americans that didn't make it to the airport since the Taliban set up checkpoints. No clue how we extract them or even know who is out there and whether they've already even been killed or not.

Uzbekistan has confirmed that 22 Afganistan military planes and 24 helicopters ahve crossed the border of the country with a total of 585 armed soldiers on board.
Uzbeks shot down a US-delivered Afgan air force A-29 "Super Tucano" over its airspace last night.
At least one pilot survived.
The Uzbekistan Border Checkpoint full of Afgan Military equipment trying to cross.
Good news is that at least some of the equipment is out of the Taliban hands.

Got to imagine they will be used for ransom if and when the Taliban catch them.

I don't get why people accept the luxury of Dubai and overlook the slavery that occurs in that society.

Biden press conference prediction
-Trumps fault
-Everyone knew this was inevitable
-Did the best he could
-Nobody hates Taliban more than he does
-Despite evidence to the contrary the US leaving Afghanistan has been a success
Most of the media will applaud him but some will hold him accountable

Honestly this is surprising to me.
But I suppose this botched withdrawal was just too big to ignore or bullshite their way into blaming it on someone else. A lot of people in the media went nuts when Psaki's email went to an automatic "out of office" reply after they were ignored by the White House for days.
