The lack of manufacturing capacity to quickly resupply these high-end weapons is very much a strategic weakness that has been discussed for years; this isn't anything new to anyone who was paying attention.

When the Biden admin started giving weapons to Ukraine, one of the constraints they ran into quickly was stockpile size and manufacturing capacity.

Today, we simply can't replace the weapons as fast as we consume them.

wow - newsflash - the US has used up precision strike missiles in Iran which has caused a reduction in stockpiles! I'm shocked. The "almost depleted" and "used about half" information is just plain fiction.

There's only one solution...the U.S. needs to buy a lot more rockets from RTX. They make quality stuff. An order of 100K should do the trick.

When I first read about all the Tomahawks being used, I started buying RTX stock. Articles I read talked about their levels of production. While your idea may have some merit, they can only crank out so many missiles at a time. Those Tomahawks you order today won't be delivered anytime soon.

Once again, two things can be true.

You're an idiot if you blindly believe whatever the media or Trump tell you.

I recall Donald Rumsfeld saying you go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had when questioned why our troops in Iraq had substandard armor on vehicles.

Something about the definition of insanity seems applicable here.

How else do you suppose we attack someone? Some of you who have never left your mother’s basement think you know what’s going on and war experts.

With good GPS, the JDAM can hit within about 16 feet (5 meters), but if that’s unavailable, the INS typically keeps the error to roughly 98 feet (30 meters) for flights up to 100 seconds.

Good enough for me.

But there is enough smoke from enough places to indicate this is a real consideration, even if it's not as dire as it sounds.

This has been a known issue for years with regards to certain items like artillery rounds and specific guided munitions.

We have been in a proxy war with Russia propping up the Ukrainians using our limited munitions at a rate that exceeds our ability to replace them.

The pentagon supposedly warned the decision makers we couldn’t sustain an engagement in Iran long term and they didn’t expect the IRGC to fall quickly and they went ahead with it hoping I’m sure that the decapitation strike would work and it would be another easy win.

That didn’t happen and so when they continued to escalate attacks it stands to reason that the burn rate escalated and it’s not at all surprising they’d be out of certain stocks either over there or in general.

The hard reality is war isn’t a video game and this isn’t 1945 where we had Chevy plants turning out bombs at an infinite rate.

I don’t know what the current burn rate is but I don’t think anyone should be surprised that we’re hitting rock bottom when we’re fighting what amounts to two wars simultaneously.

And as much as I want us out of both wars I don’t believe this stuff should be allowed to be published because it does in fact put service men at risk.

What did Trump say concerning the weapons stockpiles, I must have missed that part of the OP?

If Trump was to say or did say something about our weapons stockpiles, I’m more inclined to believe the Commander-in-Chief than a leftist media rag with anonymous sources.

Again? I heard this same thing last month. And then 6 months before that. You'd think with using "virtually all" every month then we'd run out sooner or later.
