I sincerely hope he carries his threat out. I want to see all those Limousine Liberals that supported him from their fancy multi-million dollar co-ops get their apartments seized and turned into public housing. I want to see the hippies and hipsters in Greenwich Village get evicted. I want to see Wall Street firms flee as their assets are seized. I want to see New Yorkers get what they voted for, “good and hard”, as Mencken put it.

Not a single straight white male to be seen in the video.

I hope Mamdani and the socialist mayor of Seattle all the best in getting their insane socialist agenda passed into law and policies in place. That way they can either make socialism actually work (which would prove American exceptionalism btw) or more likely they will be huge failures and just more examples of how socialism does not and will never work.

Yeah, what’s your point? Look, I understand the red meat aspect of this thread, and Mamdani is obviously a retard, but despite what he may be telling people in a public speech, he can’t just seize apartments. Also, part of what he is relying on is a process that has been in place for 30 years, and yes, it has to go through the foreclosure process.
No real point but you raised the process so i read up on it and saw that it required foreclosure. That means either a bank or non payment of taxes. Chances are these building are owned without mortgages so that would be non payment of taxes...a relatively small amount.
The other process is where they have to pay fair value.
My only point (and sounds like you agree) is that it is bs talk by him without any real ability to pull it off. Also using something in place for 70 years and calling it his own is a nice twist.

Otherwise, they can use eminent domain but must pay fair value.
I've been through eminent domain twice and my family has been through it seven times over one 90 acre parcel. We won the first time 100 years ago when a jury ruled they couldn't use eminent domain for the purpose they stated.
Every time after that it's a nibble here, a nibble there.
The government comes in, unless you've got buds) and lowballs. You bring your higher appraisal in front of a jury.
The jury splits the difference.
Then, how much are you willing to spend for legal representation?

Perhaps.
"Perhaps" the New York Adult Survivors Act (ASA) created a one-time, one-year "look-back window" enabling the E Jean bullshite? Is that the source of your "perhaps"?
Or
"Perhaps" E Jean's bullshite could possibly be true?? Is that the source of your "perhaps"?

The people who will suffer from his policies are the low rent dwellers because it is the buildings they live in that are already marginal. Commie Mamdani will add more cost to the equation, freeze rent, make tenants who don't pay their rent protected, add expensive regulations and raise property taxes at the same time.
Who is that going to hit? Certainly, not the luxury high rise dwellers.
The dems did this before back in 70's. The result was a lot of buildings burning down in the low rent neighborhoods. A lot of abandoned buildings became infested with junky squatters or become crack houses.
Commies never learn.

So far I see none are taking issue with anything Mamdani said.

Well let’s see if any of them will openly condemn it.
If not they’re just commies playing the long game.

I wouldn't underestimate the legal contortions the NYC city bureaucracy is capable of.

Because government and collective warmth housing programs always work out.
