With DEI admission policies you should want an Asian doctor. Statistically, they are most likely to be the very best.
Asians encompasses a pretty wide spectrum. Some are beneficiaries and some are not.
The one person you know that is there because of merit, I'm gonna go with that man.

All universities are going to have to go back to pen and paper assignments done in the classroom in front of the professor for a degree to be worth anything in short order.
My youngest is taking a 500 level course this summer as an incoming senior. Several papers are due throughout the term. They are instructed to use ai for structure and to get you over the hump. They do run a checker that tells them how much was ai created and shows key strokes of how the paper was written.
I'll go out on a limb and state that can all probably be outmaneuvered.
Ok, but what about the prof end? We just paid $600/credit hour and the prof grades my sons work with ai. No human input.
The prof has the summer course on autopilot.

If they wait until August 3rd, or later, to announce his death they won't have to hold a special election to replace him.
That's not the state law, but Beshear is going to ignore the law anyway.
Under state law that Beshear is going to ignore, 56 days before the general is the deadline which is not August 3rd.

The governor does not and cannot make any appointments.
By law.
This law is untested in court and andy likes to sue. andy's position is that the state constitution gives him authority.
The republicans contend that his authority does not extend beyond state offices according to the state constitution. That the 2024 state law clarifies and addresses federal office vacanies.
andy will not initiate a special election. He's going straight to court or he will just appoint the Dem commie that's running in the general and let the republicans sue him.
Deadlines aren't going to mean anything this time.
By the way, our state supreme court is shite. They allowed all of andy's mandates through the first year of covid.

The Republicans provide a list of three candidates to choose from. The governor has to appoint from this list and call a special election.
That was the 2021 law that Beshear said he would disobey.
The Republican veto proof super majority changed it again in 2024 and took andy out of the loop and put it in the voters hands. Parties nominate who they want for a special election.
August 3 is the deadline for vacancy to hold a stand-alone, completely separate election before the November general.
September 1 is the deadline to have a special election at all. It would just be included in the general election. One race for the remainder of the term to January and a separate race for the next six year term. All on one ballot.
If the vacancy is announced after the cutoff, it just remains vacant until the next term.

I live in a county of 70000 and 250000 within a 50 mile radius of me. I have a hospital 3 miles from me that employs 1800 including 230 physicians and another hospital seven miles from me that employs 1400 including 180 physicians.
If I have any internal damage or not much more than breaking a singular bone, I am flown(two hours by car) to Vanderbilt in Nashville.
What can you do? It seems silly with all of those doctors and no one can see you in an emergency. We don't handle emergencies any longer, appointment only. It's just policy now.
There is a helicopter evac company located here also. My wife bought a policy directly through them last year. I hope not to use it.
