Yeah, actually makes me have some respect for him. Looks like he really did believe in the military operations he supported or advocated for and wasn't doing it to war profiteer, self enrich, or to make millions from insider trading... like many of his Congressional colleagues on both sides of the aisle. Unless they find out he was hiding a bunch of money off-shore or something.

His foreign policy and love of Israel sucks, but he at least wasn't making himself obscenely wealthy off of tax dollars and getting his rocks off with hookers instead of interns. That pretty much puts you in the top 1% of ethical congressmen.

You’d think a guy in his position would leave an estate bigger than that.
It indicates that the guy wasn’t in it for the money. He wasn’t married so he didn’t have to worry about a wife or family. He lived for the politics.

I made a post here a long time ago of my experience with many gay friends that I had in college and throughout my workplace life. I posted about their general character traits that were common. One of them was 'they make good money but do not manage it well at all.' Just sayin'.

I would say my 84 year old mom has a net work of 2.2 million (his upper estimate), and I can definitely say we were not from much of anything.
