Maybe not but most Republicans knew Congress did nothing to help Trump.

Vance vs DeSantis is going to be an epic battle. Hopefully they join forces for the general.

But Vance is too concerned with it. You can see the gears turning in his head when answering questions. He's thinking about the reaction to what he's about to say, and the reaction to that reaction, and the reaction to that reaction.........

He's got that Buttigieg in him. He can be a little fiery after the fact when everyone's cards are out in the open, but otherwise he is timid and unsure of himself.

It's easy to break from the losers AFTER they lost. You don't get much credit for that.

You’ll never see a Democrat voter cross over the way a GOP voter will.

Idiot GOP voters

Honestly though, it doesn't take much. DeSantis is basically the perfect conservative candidate relative to all the others of this era, and yet there is probably 5%+ of the GOP electorate who will absolutely not show up for him under any circumstances because he didn't yield to Trump.

Exactly. It seems to be all he cares about actually. And what that tells me is that his "principles" aren't real at all. This is how you get a guy who goes from calling Trump literally Hitler to pretending to be all about his agenda in a matter of months.

Guy is a fricking idiot politician. This exact statement is how you can tell how few normal people are running this country.

JD really needed polls to tell him why he’s failing and why people voted against him after the total disaster this year? You can’t logic that? You’re supposed to be the #2 most competent person in the entire country and you don’t know how to run the country without a pollster telling you what to do.

I don’t personally need someone to hold my hand every day and tell me what’s working and what’s not regarding my career. These guys are fricking jokes

No he won’t. Trump has zero credibility at this point. I think you’ll see a mass exodus of people like Vance who hitched their wagon to him strictly out of necessity.

Wow That's pretty incredible. It's correct. But it's incredible. No doubt that 2028 is on now.

Yep. I think this a brilliant move for him to put some distance between himself and the things voters are unhappy about with the Trump administration. It’s bold too. If the war doesn’t wind down, this could put him, and perhaps more importantly his own political chances, at direct odds with Trump’s decisions

JD - you are in the White House! Do something yourself.

You sat on your hands and watched.

No credit given for day after commentary.

It's past time for the right to unhitch their wagons from the Trump train.

“Republicans” stayed home to pout and these same people will be bitching, moaning and blaming everyone else for what they did over the next decade.

He was PNG for his opposition on Iran, so much so that Trump handed him the shite sandwich of Iran to fix, after it went like Vance projected.

Again, what would you realistically have him do?

Are those saying this stuff about Vance going to hold Rubio in even more contempt (who didn't internally object at all)?

Vance was opposed from the beginning. Trump said several times that Vance didn't agree

He should have listened to his Marine Corp Officer Vice President.

Trump just unhitched his own wagon from the right last night. He washed his hands of it and now we get to watch the fallout. It's going to ensnare both sides.

The DEMS fear Rubio.

He can make the case to all of these migrants who came here that they will not want to see the US turn into the same kind of shite hole that they moved away from in the first place.

And he can tell them that in Spanish.
