My gripe is not about capitalism. Far from it. But there are millions who can vote and elect people who are bent on destroying capitalism. Our outdated democratic underpinnings are the Achilles heel that allow this to happen.

How do we fix it?

What I told you to do. Deal with it pragmatically even though it sucks to live among savages who have as many rights as you do- and live the awesome life you have. Not necause it's ideal, but because it's reality.

Look--I feel your pain-I said this right here yesterday:

quote:

I sincerely-with every fiber of my being-wish that we could give them the world they say they want-let them live in it for 5 years. That's the insanity of Progressivism/the modern-day Democrats-we are holding it all together-not just for us-but for them. . We are conserving American traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions while they battle against us for every inch-and yet they get the fruits of our efforts. I so want all these really shitty people to experience what it is they agitate for.

They might. But they are wrong. Morality is not subjective. You are either on the right side or you are not.

WTF? It's impossible to mischaracterize what I said any more than that. There's a shame in doing that in an honest discussion btw-and it is certainly not moral or a virtue. Check yourself.

We have watered down the original system. Any tard can have a vote on who should be in charge. The fact that folks are making decisions based off billboards and 30 second commercials is insane

Man, I agree... it's more complicated than I make it out to be.
But...... nothing can change the reality that our founding fathers set up a system by which we the people can make a difference.
To all the spineless folks who say we can't, then tell me how Trump won a second term?????
We do matter, our votes matter.....

"Prog filth garbage."

This is hilarious. So, saying that someone should not be able to silence the voices or prevent the political participation of those with whom he disagrees is "progressive" and "garbage"? Your reasoning would sound great to Hitler, Stalin, and every other totalitarian who's ever lived. I prefer to live in the Land of the Free where no one said it would be easy or that everyone would agree with me.

Bottom line: we the people need to elect better congressional representation.

A nice thought, but the crooks control and manipulate the elections, too. They literally stole a Presidential Election in 2020 and faced zero ramifications. The only people who faced legal consequences were the ones who exposed evidence of the steal.

i already told him about the unfortunate reality of pragmatism. He then insulted me by mischaracterizing my point. I then looked at his posting history which as a testament to pragmatism. Just not on THIS thread, ya see.

Newbie dude is a half-witted arse clown. Just note his name and ignore him.

Speaking in generalities like Globalism makes no sense. The problem is that more than half this country supports abortion, lgbtq nonsense, guaranteed income, Medicaid for all, socialism and communism. They vote that way. Either they need to change their hearts and minds (yeah right) or they need to be removed from the electoral system.

Globalism is not a generality. Those are the people pushing the crap you list because it causes societies to collapse into chaos, only to be told, that giving freedoms and powers to the government can save them.

It's not even close to half that believe that shite. Trump proved that when he shut it down by being elected.
They just receive top billing from the media. My biggest advice to parents sending their kids to college? Wake the hell up and pay attention.
Because the majority are being taught that the only avenue of Government that works is Socialism.

When they get told it's failed everywhere, they simply retort "That's because it's never been properly applied and only America has the ability to apply it correctly." BS.

Well, then our own Constitution and SCOTUS flawed interpretations of it screw us big time too. See birthright citizenship. Not much will do more to destroy this country in the coming years than that decision last week. Especially if Democrats regain the White House anytime soon.

This... We were built as a high trust society with a calibrated moral compass. Overtime, immoral people have twisted that trust for self enrichment. Congress exempts themselves from laws like ObamaCare and insider trading.

We don't have an institution problem, we have a people problem. We don't put people in stocks and throw rotten vegetables at them. We don't tar and feather.

And lastly, we carry too much dead weight. If you're physically able to breed, you're physically able to work and feed those you breed.

There are too many people in this country who believe things and conduct themselves in ways that are immoral and wrong. I strongly believe they are unfit to have a say in how the country is governed, but in our system they have the ability not only to vote, but to run for office and win.

I've been telling this forum for several years now that the downfall of the US will be the lack of guardrails on the founding documents to protect the constitutional republic from the enemies from within. The constitutional republic thrives and moves forward when decent and moral people control the major institutions of the nation....that's not the case today.

So who would decide who is moral in your new government?

“We the People” decide. Therein lies the problem since every individual voter has their own subjective opinion as to who and what is moral.

I’m sure this has been stated in this thread and I don’t feel like reading the whole thread, but there’s your answer.

You people need to stop throwing shade on Our representative Republic form of government.

Our form of government only really works when there is a moral and religious populace.

In any case it’s not worth trashing.

What comes next is pure authoritarianism which is basically communism.

Tell me what else is there that provides you with the freedoms and liberties that you currently possess.

We can vote our way out of this. And we must because the only other way is violence, and if we become violent, the government will use its military on us and it will really be over then.

All of the civilian firearms in the world are ineffective against F-16’s, which we have already been threatened with, and attack helicopters and A-10’s not to mention B-52‘s..

And you cannot hide from them.

In other words, the "greatest system of government in the history of the world" allows evil people with immoral intent to have power to make consequential policies and decisions.

So how do you propose we decided ultimately who is evil and who immoral?

Even the so-called champions of righteousness have also shown themselves to be immoral and evil at times.

If anyone's views on politics are black and white then you need to quit politics.
The very nature of politics is just the opposite.

The Bible. Go there for absolutes. Absolutes in politics is what marxism, dictators and kings all have in common.

Democracy is fluid, dirty, hard to control. If no one is happy in a democracy then it's working.

Right....but knowing that's where it is headed, would it not be better to address it now and salvage what can.

Salvage how? A coup and install a dictatorship? Count me out. That’s where we will end up if we do nothing and our Republic withers and dies.

I think there is an excellent chance that things stabilize. We have two problems we must get a hold of. One is our debt/deficit. This might get cured for us through AI productivity gains.

The second is our inability to handle social media attacks by foreign bots. They are successfully dividing us, as we can see by reading the constant comments on this board like “The left are evil” and “They are targeting us”. On the left wing boards it is even worse.

But there is a good chance we will develop an immunity to this. It is a new phenomenon, and we just haven’t adjusted to it yet. If we can get control of those two problems I expect another great American flourishing like the one Ronald Reagan kicked off. Those were desperate times, too.

Who decides who is immoral and unfit to participate in our electoral system and government???

As church attendance continues to decline - society must find a way to engender basic morality in the populace before they make it to the ballot box - preferably by improving said church attendance, but also through non-religious means as well(because one indeed can choose to be a good person independent of their religious beliefs,or lack thereof)

How we accomplish this moving forward is critical to the survival of our Nation as it was founded.

However, without a secure voting system none of this matters; and as it stands we really don’t have one.
