Is the "greatest system in the world" driving the US to ruin?

As a conservative, my views on politics are very black and white. There is right, there is wrong and little to no grey areas. I vote Republican because that party has shown me time and again to be on the moral and correct side of the issues I care about.
I also consider myself to be a patriot and have always believed that our Republic is the best governing system in the world. However, I am not sure that is the case anymore.
There are too many people in this country who believe things and conduct themselves in ways that are immoral and wrong. I strongly believe they are unfit to have a say in how the country is governed, but in our system they have the ability not only to vote, but to run for office and win.
In other words, the "greatest system of government in the history of the world" allows evil people with immoral intent to have power to make consequential policies and decisions.
In your mind, is that ok? Just the price the moral have to pay? Is it fine to just wait for the next election and try to win then, or do we need to think about tearing it down and building back up to deal with this.
30 years ago, I would have thought that was crazy, and the patriot in me still does to some extent. I just dont know what the solution is.

The problem isn't the system, the problem is elected pieces of shite not following the system nor it's laws and intents as our Founding Fathers intended.
Bottom line: we the people need to elect better congressional representation.

Well, exactly what system are you talking about?
A constitutional republic?
A constitutional republic?

We have watered down the original system. Any tard can have a vote on who should be in charge. The fact that folks are making decisions based off billboards and 30 second commercials is insane.

Well should the democrat party be allowed to destroy the country like they want? what if they are not stopped from cheating in elections?
"Oh well, that is the system I guess.

We used to have limited voter rights. Everything would be solved if stupid people were not allowed to vote. I suggest something very simple that would have amazing results: Adult males with an IQ over 115.

If we had a fair and honest media that wouldn't spew propaganda or provide cover for politicians on either side, but rather expose their corruption, we would be in a much better position.

It all boils down to voting rights. The fact that the homeless drug addict’s vote counts as much as the business owner who pays $5mm in taxes annually ie asinine.
There is a reason the founding fathers wanted only stakeholders to have the right to vote
Also, those without children often vote selfishly and think only short term. Many of these people have no problem taking our current resources and pushing problems to the next generation
I propose a tiered voting system:
1 vote for everyone
1 extra vote if you are a net taxpayer
1 extra vote vote if you have children

We are heading toward an autocracy government. If it occurs sooner than it will likely be conservative, if longer than Socialist.

In other words, the "greatest system of government in the history of the world" allows evil people with immoral intent to have power to make consequential policies and decisions.
Madison stated "To suppose that any form of government will secure liberty or happiness without any virtue in the people, is a chimerical idea".
Adams noted "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
The political environment of the day and the representatives operating within it are simply a reflection of the people who put them in office (namely us). Politics attracts unsavory characters because we on the whole either endorse their immorality or support them in spite of it.

De Toqueville said, "America is great because America is good." As this changes, so will the greatness of our nation, unfortunately

If the FF knew beforehand that we would allow an entitlement demographic to form, they would have limited voting rights to only those that are engaging in the American dream and at least, taxpayers.
But then those pushing for our downfall would be pushing debates on the dregs of society paying taxes on junk food from ebit cards as meeting the criteria.

There is no system of government that insures against an immoral, or amoral, people. A benevolent dictator is great until succeeded by a corrupt one.
A constitutional, democratic republic is the best form that allows a people to thrive and gives them the best chance at maintaining it for a long time. But eventually any successful government will be victim to its own success, as the success spoils the people.

The founding fathers were brilliant.

So who would decide who is moral in your new government?

I know what you are saying and war or killing is not a great option.
But if you look at history evil comes to your doorstep whether you want it too or not.
Appeasement didn't work in World War I or II. Do we wait till they have that Nuclear weapon and believe me they will use it.
Gee i wonder where they will use it.
Sometimes hard and distasteful decisions have to be made.
Should we do what President Carter did and allow them to paralyze our country. Look how well appeasement worked for us then.
If we don't handle this now we will be leaving our future generations if their are any to deal with a more powerful Iran.
Do you think there is a better way. They have shown their word means less than nothing. What else do they understand.
If we do it now while we are there and remove the flow of money to terrorist groups they support. Destroy their war capability and give control of their country back to the people who have been suppressed for 47 years by these radical extremests then mission accomplished.
And in the future hold the other middle east countries responsible for not letting it happen again.
Then we can refocus this country on our problem of communist infultration.

The United States is no longer a true republic. We have territories and possessions all over the world, that we either run directly or loosely. We are an empire. And it takes an emperor to rule an empire.

The two party system?
A Constitutional Republic?
Capitalism?
Instead of trying to be clever, can you just answer the fricking question?
