Is criminalising prostitution the ultimate example of "male patriarchy"?

Something that a mate posted on Facebook let me to consider:
One could argue that male-authored codes of law throughout the civilised world has essentially outlawed prostitution for the past several hundred years (at least). Obviously long-term this is a benefit to women in the preponderance of instances, BUT in some respects you're also taking off the table the one failsafe lucrative/bankable talent that girls aged 16-25 could provide to men (that 16 is going back to times when the age of consent was lower, BTW).
This is actually being proven currently with the rise of pay-for-play match-making websites in which girls can essentially sell their time and bodies in a pseudo-legal way.
I feel like a lot of the younger girls are very pro sex-worker, so I think this is a movement that has some meaningful traction. It's another feminist talking point that will backfire and harm the quality of life, but it's still likely true.
I feel like it's about to come full circle:
Women circa 1910: "We want the vote!"
Women circa 1960: "We want to work! We're as capable as men!"
Women circa 2010: "Women in the work force has necessarily lowered salaries overall and raised the necessity of graduate degrees in order to be compensated at the levels needed to maintain our quality of life. Male patriarchy is preventing us from (legally) capitalizing on our most marketable asset! Decriminalise the sex worker industry!"
Women circa 2030: "It's so nice that automation allows us to stay home and raise our 1.4 children instead of working"

What if everyone was good at one honest thing that made them money? What would the world look like?

Here's a related question. How come the "my body my choice" crowd doesn't fight for the legalization of prostitution?
Probably for the same reason that the people who scream about voter id being discriminatory are just fine with requiring ID to buy a gun LOL hypocrites with no real principles.

There is definitely a movement picking up steam in this regard - the rise of sites like "seeking arrangements" has girls realizing that their time is valued at ~ $100 to $700 per hour depending on various factors.

I wouldn't call it "ultimate" but yeah probably
Also "male patriarchy" is pretty redundant

Want to see a short circuit? Ask a feminist if porn degrades women or if they're being empowered by doing what they want with their body.

I don't need an ID to legally buy a gun.
ETA: I'm getting a lot of downvotes, but apparently I'm the only one who's bought a gun from a private seller before.

I'd wager that a healthy majority of women aged 16-25 that are either college educated or that are planning on being college-educated would say that porn is liberating.
The rise of niche porn and feminist porn stars and sites has helped turn the tide on this issue for lefties.

No, it's exactly the opposite.
Pimps, almost always male, will lie, manipulate, and coerce young women into prostitution. It happens all the time in Amsterdam; those poor girls are mostly victims of abuse and manipulation.
As men, we should do what is right to protect young women that are easily susceptible to the lies of society's worst.

Or we legalize and regulate it to prevent sex trafficking and the spread of STDs

I forgot the study that I read online but it was done in England and i wasn't surprised by it at all the percentage of girls aged 20-24 that were doing this type of stuff.
They were getting paid on avg $2500 per night out. Essentially if they slept with 1 guy every month they could pay off their student debt in a year. Not to mention all the perks and stuff on the side they receive from these men.

The easiest way to counter this, I think, would be to have a blanket policy of amnesty for young women who turn on their pimps.

I don't see how this holds the logic test.
1) It is illegal for men, too.
2) If guys could get paid for having sex, a lot would do it.

Most "nice guys" would be shocked at the number of young, educated women from nice families who are involved in the lifestyle in one way or another.

It it 100% anti pro choice. It is men totally controlling the puss!

If buy a woman a dinner at a nice place for 100 bucks and then have sex it's a date.
If you just give her 100 bucks and have sex it's prostitution.
Similarly...
If you drink in a bar you're a drunk.
If you drink at a golf course you're a sport.

One reason why I'm against prostitution is that it dehumanizes women and perpetuates the idea that women are nothing more than sex objects to be used and thrown away. It removes their dignity, as I see it, and preserving the dignity of women should be a "feminist" issue.
