My wife's grandfather is exactly like this. He's 82 and an old school Kennedy democrat. He consumes mostly CNN stuff and doesn't realize how radical the party has become. I don't see him enough to have much conversation on politics, but I know my wife never understands how he could vote that way.

The GOP/Republicans championed both of those.

It is shocking how much influence the lunatics on the left have over Blue. Do they really outnumber moderate Dems that badly?
Barrack Obama moved the party to the far left. He also greatly facilitated leftism into the bureaucracy of federal institutions.

Because they're stupid. It ultimately destroyed them. Will they learn? Only one way to find out.

They are true sheep. Even republicans showed it’s possible to break away from them herd mentality and take a different path, albeit a more inclusive path.

Where I think they lost a lot of people was all the LGBTQ crap, BLM crap, and pushing transgender rights down people's throats. Men in women's locker rooms, men in women's sports , harmone blockers for children etc. The encouraging the uprisings after the George Floyd death and seemingly letting people burn down parts of cities, defund the police, let people shoplift under $1000.
So basically their entire platform.
But you left out the dei crap. The spending crap. The immigration crap. Everything that they did, they should've done the opposite.

It's all about organization and power, and getting vote totals...
95% of Americans are normal, and pretty much the same, whether Democrat or Republican. But awhile back (decades ago) the Republicans appeared to get the overly religious, the Evangelicals on their side. The Dems used to get Catholics in large numbers and that would balance, but that started to fade as Catholics drifted across the aisle.
In order to keep up, the Dems began doing the Rainbow Coalition and other such stuff, trying to get every minority group they could get. At the time it was simply to match vote totals. The problem is, "normal" people just don't care that much about politics, whereas small extremist groups do. Over time, the Left edge that you just wanted to get votes from, became more and more organized and entrenched, to where they gained control of the Dem party.
That's why there seems to be such an anti-Christian slant to the Dems, because they all coalesced on that side, had been courted and welcomed (again, just to get votes), and they slowly claimed control of the party itself. In the 80's you saw a Bill Clinton run as Pres, a guy like that wouldn't make it through the process today. That's why they don't have a young, normal male candidate- they were stuck with old folks like Biden, and new people who are deviants (Kamala- female, ethnic; Butegieg- gay; etc).

Due to the extreme reaction to Trump in 2016, they basically got 2 cultural cycles in a row, which left them in relatively extreme positions by 2024 that most in society weren't really down with. Just like how lots of Trump supporters confuse a reaction/referendum election for some permanent shift in the voting block today, they had the same arrogance about their place in society.

They promised unlimited power/money and a foolproof plan to become and remain a one party government forever. With the backing of the WEF and globalists in other countries, they jumped on board rather than lose their seats.
They had the media pumping out propaganda 24/7, the education system indoctrinating children, and celebrities influencing their fans. They had bought off local officials and judges at all levels to protect them from any litigation or repercussions to their actions. It seemed like there was no stopping it, so they jumped on board.

It far from destroyed them. They'll be back and more unhinged than ever. What they have probably learned is to quit saying the quiet parts out loud. They will come back with the "socialism with a human face" approach.

Yeah the whole New Zealand lamb thing despite the fact that the majority of lamb exports go to non halal and kosher countries.

Both ended the Civil and Vietnam wars that were started by the Demorats.

Keep the foot on the neck and end the Dems for good.
They are a useless and dangerous party.

They have been on the far left long before Obama.

A pretty good summary of how the left got to this point, I think
Posted on 11/8/24 at 9:02 am to Penrod
The Demorats have no reason to exist.

Obama took over that party, and he is part of the 10%.

My take is that Democrat voters didn’t want to alienate the radicals because they thought they were more powerful than they actually were To be honest they were probably right. The radicals are powerful as shite until it comes time to vote
The Democrats in power probably thought oh ok, well this shite is more popular than we thought so, let’s roll with it, we’re in the lead on the scoreboard
Now they realize it’s not popular and they’re like hey maybe we should chill on the tranny shite… yeah ok, now you realize that
This is certainly a huge part of it.
Also that the very nature of their dogma is groupthink.

Well, your premise that only 10% of Democrats are radical is wrong. So, start there.
