re: Dan Wetzel blames "Travel Ball" for the lack of development of US Soccer
Posted by RAB on 7/8/26 at 9:36 am to real turf fan
Several years ago I spent some time traveling through Brazil. Their culture is soccer obsessed in ways that exceed our own love of football in the South. Many of the schools have hard-court soccer gyms built into them in the same way that we build basketball gyms here. And every field near a neighborhood has make-shift goals, much like we see basketball goals outside homes in our country.
My point is that it isn't just travel ball. Outside of the quadrennial World Cup bandwagon, our nation just isn't into soccer. We like our beer cold, our fireworks loud, our temperatures in Fahrenheit, and our football with a dash of violence.

re: Has consideration been given to extend 565 in Huntsville to Interstates 22 and 59?

I can’t find any articles, but a Corridor V appears on some long term planning maps. It would seem logical to connect Interstate 22, Florence, Decatur, Huntsville and then east to Interstate 59. I do realize as slow as interstates are built that if planning stated today it would take at least 50 years
They need to add a third lane to both sides of I-65 from the Tennessee state line all the way to Mobile before they do anything else.

My neighbors decided to shoot a few mortar shells just now. I hate those things on July 4, but I really hate them on July 5.
Real life House of Cards.

I can guarantee you that they won't be doing a thing to address this before the midterms. And then if the Dems get a majority in the House or Senate, this opportunity is gone for the foreseeable future.
The GOP leadership knows exactly what they're doing. They know we know exactly what they're doing. There is a certain psychotic boldness to it.

re: Does anyone have any positive things to say about Islam?
Posted by RAB on 6/29/26 at 10:39 am to theliontamer
Our culture and values are incompatible with Islam, plain and simple. I don't understand why we keep thinking that we can work with them. Especially Shia Islam. We will never have a true peace agreement with the Iranian fundamentalist government because they would much rather die than work with infidels.

re: How lame of a duck is Trump right now?

I wouldn't read too much into this. It is providing a degree of political cover for the politicians, and nothing more.

There’s a walking track at a school near my house. Rather than park in the parking lot, black people always drive across the field to then get next to the track before walking. It’s the craziest thing. They will walk a mile on the track, but can’t park 40 yards away.
re: At the request of Muslims, Keir Starmer legalizes marriage between first cousins in the UK
Posted by RAB on 6/19/26 at 12:33 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
Starmer isn’t promoting a bill that would legalize this kind of marriage, but he is stopping a bill that would make it illegal. The truth is that first cousins marriage has always been legal in Britain, it just wasn’t a problem until inbred Muslims were shipped in. 55% of Pakistani marriages in Britain, for example, are between first cousins.
Of course if he’s somehow elected, he will be a millionaire within a few weeks.
re: Why is it ok for Israel to invade Lebanon, Syria and Gaza?

Imagine if al qaeda was operating on the other side of the Mexican border before and after 9/11/01. That’s why Israel does what they do.
Israel is surrounded by people who would love nothing more than to wipe them off the face of the planet. They said “Never Again,” and they mean it.

I thought we were supposed to celebrate trans people, but here this lunatic is crying over this very thing? It is honestly hard to keep up.

Once again, homosexual men prove to be incubators for novel sexual diseases. Homosexuality remains a public health problem.

The only difference between Trump and every other politician is he’ll display himself in front of the cameras. There are horror stories about how Kamala and Hillary treat people. But that’s done behind the scenes.
I doubt any of those guys are named after renaissance artists.
