3. Put forth the "compromise" that any gun purchased must be preceded by a background check and purchased from a physical location. Include stores and gun shows and require all gun shows to have a private owner transfer booth (Once again keep in mind that the gun show loophole is a myth anyways.)
Have you ever purchased a firearm? Serious question.

Yes, and everytime I have had to have a background check including at gun shows.

I'd consider it.
You know they would cheat. The dems promised Reagan a border wall in exchange for amnesty and employment verification. Guess which two didn't happen.

Everybody has the right to defend their home and property. A gun is the great equalizer. I don't care if you are crazy or a criminal. Also, if I own something, I have the right to sell it to whoever will give me the most money. Lastly, the super rich will get waivers and permits to have/keep whatever types of guns they want. It's not fair that guns laws will depend on how much money you have..

Compromise was written into the 2nd amendment over 200 years ago.
I'll go with that.
I'll go with that.

no compromise. you cant compromise on constitutional rights

A lot of people have missed the point of “Compromise” in your post.
Nobody missed the point. We have no intention of FURTHER compromising on a God-given right, guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. We have "compromised' over, and over, and over again. What did it get us? Yet more demonization, and further demands for compromise.
Would you compromise on your right to free speech? How about your right to a lawyer? There is no compromise.

I say we gun holders have already "Compromised" enough!
To be honest there should be no reason the federal government should know if a free man owns or buys a gun.

You’re welcome. You got everything you want. No new laws .

OP is basically offering the status quo. It looks good politically and gives up nothing.
I would say that is shrewd.

Yes, these things already happen which was my point. Thanks for playing. It's why compromise is in quotations.

She suggests outlawing all full autos and would require any firearm purchase to have a background check.
She's woefully unclear on the "shall not" part of infringement. Maybe you are, as well.

ironically, the very people/ organizations/ philosophies pushing gun control are also responsible for the destruction of society, making life in the USA increasingly toxic, dangerous, polarized and expanding the necessity for self defense
Posted on 3/23/21 at 1:10 pm to Sailin Tiger
We have been compromising for decades. No. More. Compromise.
Posted on 3/23/21 at 1:11 pm to Sailin Tiger
I have another idea. Democrats compromise, and we relax current gun laws. Why do Republicans have to compromise to "win"?
Posted on 3/23/21 at 1:13 pm to Sailin Tiger
There is no compromise. Gun control doesn't work. The answer is no.
Posted on 3/23/21 at 1:13 pm to Taxing Authority
The only "compromise" I'd be for is whatever gun laws are passed for citizens Congress must also follow. No more "assaault" weapons? Same for the people that guard congress. No more than 10 rounds? Ok. Same for the people that guard congress.
If The People don't need arms, Congress surely does not.
