Perhaps conservatism needs to be dumped in the trash

This country calls itself a Christian nation, it needs a true Christian party. What passes for republican and democrat Christians are truly deplorable. Compromising every Christian value for the sake of votes.

We lost our soul when we decided that being anti-tax was the measuring stick for a good Republican. Society was well on its way to crashing when Reagan brought his anti-tax and anti-government rhetoric to Washington.

It is the way to win.

It is also the way to turn into what the left did by turning into ALL extremists. They will just red line it until the motor blows up.

Still, I'd rather win for a while.

Whelp.. with the way the two party system is right now... it is the only alternative.

And for the people fleeing certain states... what is the preferred destinations and how are they ran?

There are other options.

The anti-left can be better.

That's because conservatives are usually wrong on most social issues.

FDR said a conservative has 2 healthy legs but refuses to walk forward.

A wise man once wrote “Festina Lente” on a chalk board. We spent the rest of the semester philosophizing the phrase in regards to in vitro fertilization.

Festina Lente, SS, Festina Lente.

Wasn't Mrs. Al Gore the lead proponent of this movement?

It was a wildly popular bi-partisan movement. Yep, Tipper was at the forefront. It started because of the satanic panic surrounding heavy metal. Quayle was a big supporter.

Hillary was also a strong proponent of censorship during her time as first lady

This seems to be something that is bipartisan to some degree

Because we purchased the idea that a separation of church and state meant keeping Christianity out of politics, we allowed it all. We allowed libertarian influences to shape the lack of response. What they do is their business. Right.

Now we see the results. Kids being taught that anything goes. Experiment with any and everything. Its all about what makes you feel good... and if you feel bad, its because the creatures on the right are bigots and we will handle them. BAKE THE CAKE OR ELSE!

And its by design. All of it.

I frequently ask those on the PT forum to ponder why it is when the Rs control the White House, Congress and the SCOTUS........why does the Democratic Socialism/Cultural Marxism agenda continue to creep forward?

My point is someone doesn't have to profess to be Christian to live in line with what are commonly called "Christian values."

And my point is that someone has no motivation to do so either as a secularist, nor any philosophical grounding for the values.

It's a Christian value to remain sexually pure until marriage. It's a Christian value to only divorce under certain narrow circumstances. It's a Christian value to avoid consuming alcohol in excess. Heterosexual sex only is a Christian value.

I'm sure you can se the problem with what you're claiming by now. Secular society sees no reason to abide by any of those values.

When you say anyone can live by Christian values, you mean the same argument that atheists always make when they (deliberately, I think) confuse epistemology with ontology. That no one needs to read it in the Bible to know to be nice to people or not kill people...that sort of thing.

The problem is that that is not the argument. No one is claiming that someone needs the Bible to understand the Golden Rule. The claim is that without SOMETHING beyond human thought to ground it in, the Golden Rule is not anything anybody needs to worry about following. *Notice that neither in my replies to you nor Powerman have I identified Christianity specifically as the only valid grounding for morality. You both made that assumption. All I have said is SOMETHING beyond human thought.

Nor is this anybody's Protestant argument:
quote:

the whole protestant way of thinking that just saying you know Jesus died for our sins is enough to get into heaven

Thanks for playing, but I think that is strike three.

Dude, if I didn't know more about logic than THAT, I would definitely keep my mouth shut.

You just revealed yourself to be a prize donkey.

quote:

The numbers overwhelmingly support my position and refute yours

Again,

What exactly is "my position?" I haven't taken a position on anything with regard to something you've said.

YOU are the one who thinks you know something about ME. Turned it into a WE, actually. Said "we know better than" for me to deny your retarded assumptions about me personally (which it would be difficult for you to be more wrong about...maybe I'll give that specific info later).

That wasn't about a trend. Or a general statistic. That was about me personally.

So all I have done is ask...what is it EXACTLY that you think you know about me? That I have the faith that I have because my parents had it? Don't hide now, I want to know what your superior powers of deduction have revealed to you about me.

But it's winning the Constitution as to what matters most.
And yes. We are still winning that.
