So glad I sold my place in Whistler a few years ago because there is no question the new Canadian government is going to start taxing US residents who own second homes once the US money machine cuts them off.

40% of the Canadian GDP comes from trade with the US. Trade with Canada accounts for less than 3% of US GDP.

Other than the "American betrayal" line he's not wrong about anything.

How the guy lost his own riding last night too to a Liberal. You can't blame that on Trump.

I don’t mind Canadians expressing grief for the situation. I’d be pissed, too, especially if I was blissfully unaware of the actual issues.

It’s this acting like a bitch stuff that just gets me. I have no patience for drama queens in any context.

Canadian Snowbirds are likely to have their own issues as well.

I honestly believe Trump actually did want this outcome to ensure Canada continues its economic decline.

Eventually it will get so bad that a majority of Canadians will actually embrace US annexation.

Yep chess game that little Isreal Bennie doesn’t get. Canada does this and keeps having a bad economy and we annex the red parts of Canada

That is Canada’s choice and it would appear they’ve made it. For now.

I personally do not think a future tightly aligned with Western Europe and CCP as Western European nations aggressively move towards abolishing their historical national identities in favor of open borders and an authoritarian governmental CCP style model that also aggressively seeks to punish and eliminate wrongthink and wrongspeak is a winning strategy for the long term future.

The U.S. may have “betrayed” being a leading voice towards implementing that model everywhere but if so, I’m glad we betrayed it.

If I am Trump, I start publically deploying troops to the northern border.
