The portal closing just means no new players are available. LSU could still have the pick of anyone that hasn’t signed with a new school out of the portal regardless of it being “closed”.

Do schools on the quarter system have a quarter end during the football season? That would be the only way I could ever see it working because a player would have to enroll at the school.
