The jump button being the same as the "talk to person" button has caused me no little amount of rage

Yea me too. I have Xbox elite controller. I just want to be able to map the rear paddles for more inputs. No idea why they are pre bound to XAYB already.

Crazy that a mobile game studio sold for more than Bungie ($3.6B.)

It’s actually not crazy. Have you seen the money the top mobile games print? They’re by far the most profitable form of gaming.

Probably the most glowing review of the game. Likens the game actually to a GTA sandbox.

Feels like a game designed for people who just want to Consume Content.

Uhh… what else are you supposed to do with a game?

Also why do I get the feeling this guy would be sucking the game off it had tons of shoehorned bullshite diversity quota stuff in it?
Just dropping a few review videos tha go over some of the positives and negatives they experienced.

That is the key component, since you'll be able to use the Ray regeneration feature to unlock the best visuals of the game.

Why did Microsoft even bother with the S. Imagine the poor saps who own one.

It’s probably good value if all you want to do is play Madden and COD

But I'll hold my pitchfork until they actually release it.

The biggest aspect to me would be, being able to simulate path traced lighting using AI, then all of a sudden, even low end cards could have the benefit of insanely realistic lighting, and maybe even less die space dedicated to RT cores and more space on the die for raster/AI capabilities.
I considered making a specific thread for this, but the DLSS preview by digital foundry is absolutely insane.

What it does to characters faces is going to cause a lot of debate about whether this technology is destroying the artistic intent of the devs, but how it’s manipulating lighting in realtime is just nuts.

Gunned down like a wild animal:bow:

So this confirms a few things:

1. This game was made for PC chads and console plebs are getting an inferior product

2. To really experience Crimson Desert with the best visuals, you will need a current gen AMD GPU (9060 or 9070 series) or an Nvidia RTX card (20 series and up) for the ray reconstruction to replace the shitty in house denoiser.

What does this mean

Denuvo is added software embedded in the game that essentially works as way to prevent piracy. The way the software works and validates a game is a valid copy typically effects a games performance negatively. The performance penalties are hardest felt on older PCs with slower CPUs.

There are valid complaints about having Denuvo in a game, but not near enough to justify the ridiculous sky screeching you see on social media. If we’re being honest, most of the anger and seething over Denuvo is just the fact it works and pirates will either have to wait a substantial amount of time or possibly never get access to the game for free.
Some people are freaking out about Denuvo being confirmed

Pretty crazy testament to how good the Team USA pitching roster is.

It is hurting console game sales, or this wouldn't even be a consideration

PS exclusives on PC were releasing a year+ after official console launch, the only sales they were getting were PC users who were never planning on buying it on console to begin with.

What makes Sony seethe is the fact they have to pay steam 30% per copy and that their games were going to be playable on true competitor devices (new Xbox hybrid PC and Steam machine)

For most parents 500 bucks is already bordering on ridiculous for video games.

Is it really that ridiculous when the purchase is supposed to last 7-8 years?

But also another consideration that people overlook about the new Xbox, is that it will also be the end for a monthly subscription needed to simply play online.

PlayStation and Xbox both currently charge $10 a month for basic online play capabilities, and it wouldn’t be shocking if they increased that price… this isn’t a thing on PC. So depending on how long you kept the new console, you could actually end up saving money over the new PlayStation in the long term.
