I thought this was going to be based off 2018 tax return?

If you are qualified under 2018/19 but not during 2020 you may have to pay it back.

I need RiseUpATL back up in here. I understood it to mean that everyone would get a 2020 tax credit of $1200/adult and $500/child, and if you met the income limits, you get it immediately rather than having to file it later.

I get $0.00. The wife and I make too much. So much that we get to pay the government more of what we made last year.

Looks like you still get money for the kids, even if you are a baller making bank.

Can they claw that back or is it free to keep?

I hope that’s correct. If so I will get part of it up front and part when I file next year. 2019 income is higher than my 2020 will be.

Who exactly qualifies for a payment? Individuals earning up to $75,000 a year will be eligible for the full $1,200 check. Reduced checks will go out to individuals making up to $99,000 a year (the payment amount falls by $5 for every $100 in income above $75,000).

Married couples are eligible for a $2,400 check as long as their adjusted gross income is under $150,000 a year. Reduced checks, on a sliding scale, will go out to married couples who earn up to $198,000. Married couples also will receive an additional $500 for every child under 17.
