So the fact seems clear that they are and always will be able to “control” the traffic through the strait. That is a significant military capability. Either we have to be willing to exclude the threats, companies have to be willing to take the risks, or they have to be appeased. What other options are there?

This is what happens when the world allows Middle Ages mentality people to control a nation for 50 years. These nutbags need to be disciplined and/or exterminated. They have no right to hold the world hostage until they get their way. They don’t have this right because in all reality they don’t have the power to do so, we need leaders from somewhere with actual power to destroy them. Restraint on the part of the “civilized” world is the problem here. Kill every fricking one of them until those that are left cower in fear and live in poverty.
