Well, some people do care what it looks like. Almost the exact same scenario happened to me, and I ended up on the garage floor after trying to retrieve Christmas decorations from the attic. I am pretty good at flying jets, but apparently my drywall skills are lacking. I patched up the hole, but it didn’t turn out great. When my wife saw it, she said I must have drinking when I fixed because it looked terrible. I had been, but that is not why it sucked. It sucked because I don’t have that skill set. I called a dude, and he fixed it properly.
