Key part of your post. You're putting thought into whether or not you can afford it, which is the smart thing to do.
By his complaining, it seems to me that he doesn't consider that for any of his bills.

I don't know what I'm getting, but clicking on WaPo links gave my phone AIDS.

That's not bad, I'd say that's average.
Average person has under 400 in savings

$2.65 Million (my uncle is a senator)
Yep I have a 90 mile round trip commute and can't risk having a pos vehicle. Cars are a necessary evil unfortunately. Even cutting the cord now is same as cable if you want to watch network channels. Sure you can go antenna only but that suck. The poster left off health insurance unless theirs is 100% paid by employer. Mine runs $1450/month for a family of five. Sucks working for a small office sometimes.

Speaking of averages, as of just a few years ago, 70% of families made less than $100K a year, yet, at least 70% of this thread claims to make more than $150K (of course I'm sure there are some single people in here).

$500 notes imply brand new. You don't have to buy brand new.

YouTube TV is $50 a month and I get all network channels.

Yeesh, I don't miss being self employed and I was before Obamacare.

May be people lying but more likely it's just that people that want to bitch about getting zero dollars are more likely to post in here (myself included).
My household income is not blowing it out of the water or anything. If your household makes 200k you are not getting anything.
Also I think it is still 70%ish.

You've been around long enough to know that it works like this for most:
Checks amount - $3400
Runs to TD.com - ZERO... frickING SCOUNDRELS! I MAKE SO MUCH BUT NEVER SAVED ANYTHING!

I feel like a dummy asking but this is AGI (line 7) and from the 2018 income year (meaning filed in 2019)?
Or line 10 taxable income?

Do I still have time to file 2019 since I added a dependent?

It's from whatever you filed last. If you've filed for 2019, it'll go off that.
