Are there any voters here who don't vote strictly by party?

I have some problems with the Republican party, but could never vote for a Democrat. I would consider voting third party, if it wouldn't assure a Democrat victory.

I'm independent. I've never voted for a democrat. I vote for who I think will represent me the best, not for a party.

Local level I may vote for someone who is a dem if I know them, also just because someone is a Republican doesn’t mean they get my vote. Besides that usually straight R.

They all suck. Don’t vote anymore. It’s like asking me, “Who are you voting for, Ted Bundy or Charles Manson?” frick both of them.

I had to register republican to vote against letlosi and now I get texts about what I think of israel all the time

There’s nothing wrong with that. Example of where I’ve voted for a dem would be like select 5 for committee or board and there are 4 republicans and 1 dem. The example for me not voting for a republican is if I feel like they’ve done a bad job or don’t like them so I just won’t give them my vote. My hope is they see they get less than other candidates and realize a problem.

If a candidate passes me off, i will never vote for then again. I will also only vote for a politician for 2 terms. If they run for that office a 3rd time, I'm automatically voting against them, even if it's for a Democrat. We shouldn't have career office holders.
I will vote for a Democrat over Ginger Pedo Lankford. I would vote 3rd party or abstain if Iived in Texas and had to vote for Paxton or Talarico.

I’d like more genuine distinction between the parties, myself.
I’m not sure what “middle” position we are missing out on with regard to most issues these days.

I’ve never voted Democrat because there’s never been a Democrat that represented my views or my vision for the country/state.
Republicans are spineless and don’t do the job, but it’s the only option for me given I’m not a communist, not swayed by identity politics and don’t believe anyone is aggrieved.

my republican state rep in texas voted to impeach ken paxton a few years ago. haven't voted for him since. i just leave that race vacant. to avoid blowback, the weasel donated 10k to paxtons campaign and said he was sorry. he is a typical republican in the texas house. worthless. gary gates his name.

I see. You don't mean you are "an independent," you mean you are a Republican who registered as an independent.
I asked because I have a friend who claims that he's an independent, but has never voted for a Democrat, nor has he ever voted for an independent. But he will fight you if you claim that that means he's a Republican.
In my experience, people who do that do it as an attempt to validate their political opinions. They think that if they identify as someone who might vote one way or the other, that means they are more objective than someone who admits that they always only vote one way. So when they vote Republican (or Democrat) it's because that party is truly correct, it's not because they have a personal bias.
