I can't imagine a person with "America First" ideas ever voting for the Marxist Dems. Same goes for a 3rd party, as that would not be much different than voting for the Marxist Dems.

I think that is why Trump won his elections, because he laid out a lot plans for shutting down the border, bringing manufacturing back, cutting waste and fraud, etc. The Democrats campaigned on what an evil guy Trump was.
Unfortunately, the Republicans seem to ignored Trump's example and are running on demonizing Talarico, Mamdani, El-Sayed, etc, instead of outlining their vision of the future.
Thanks. You identified what rankled me. Because I am a Republican, my social media is filled with over-the-top demonization of Democrat candidates.
That's why I wanted to know how many people actually are inclined to vote for the best candidate regardless of party. Attack ads repel me and would incline me toward the other candidate if it were a close call...but because of my religious worldview I can't vote for a Democrat.
Obviously, attack ads work or they wouldn't be so prevalent. Maybe PoliBoard is a good sampling of those who are swayed by personal attacks. The emotional types here who hurl personal attacks rather than engage in rational discussions probably respond well to attack ads.

I'm not party affiliated and have voted D, R, and L. I've only voted D for an incumbent that has proven themself (so far that's only been Kip).

35-40 years ago there were times I supported certain Democrat and Republican politicians, that changed after Slick Willie entered the high stakes game of DC politics. Today I will vote for any Republican over any Democratic Socialist politician.

I will be dead before I ever vote for a scum bag Democrat. I can't stand most Republicans either, but will almost always vote for them, because that gives me the most power to keep a Democrat out of office.
That being said, I will not vote for Dan Patrick ever. I'll either abstain or vote third party. frick that guy!

I've only voted once for a Dem. That was Zell Miller for governor of Georgia. He switched to a republican soon after, so I guess it was a good choice.

I vote for who I think is the best candidate for the job. I don't look at parties much but for the life of me, it seems that while a (R) candidate may not be that great (and sometimes it's someone I can't stand), almost every time in the last few years, the (D) candidate is a lot worse.
Voting is a privilege and a duty. It was paid for by someone with their life. So I figure I owe it to them to do the best research I can before dropping off my ballot.
