Since 2013, China has been investing in foreign infrastructure through Belt and Road, which now touches some 145 countries across every continent in the world. China has used that to establish economic ties to countries which absolutely will slow them just tying themselves to the US. And that doesn’t begin to discuss countries as trading partners. To imply that the entire world has picked the US over China displays a simplicity of logic that certainly doesn’t deserve the absolute authority you are claiming to have.

Most dont realize the EU gave china a big haircut on trade the past year, almost a 20% reduction. They certainly are not going to "pivot" to china.

Everything has been retaliatory. Once you accept that, this whole process will be a lot easier to understand.
