The courts are presided over by judges. Judges are appointed by political leaders and approved by politicians. These judges will be sympathetic and loyal to whatever party appointed them. These same judges are graduating from mostly liberal universities that do more indoctrination than education. Good luck keeping the original intent of the constitution preserved along with any liberties the left deems wrong.

That'd probably be best. The pushback would be monumental. The riots this past summer set the gun control agenda back a full generation IMO. I dont see a gun grab getting any local support anywhere in the country.

It has full support in every major urban population center in this country, and a good chunk of their suburbs as well.
Becky the suburban soccer mom doesn't really see why you need a military style Assault Rifle-15, or why your shotgun shouldn't require a permit and to be registered. That makes it safer after all. Becky also sees no problem with a super high tax on ammunition. Becky doesn't understand why you need so many bullets after all.
And Becky, along with the progressive liberals in blue cities, now drive politics in this country. Georgia showed us this.

Most gun crimes aren't committed with rifles or the alleged "assault weapons." They're mostly committed by "people of color? who bought stolen, black market, guns from the trunk of a '89 Caprice (or stole them themselves) where there a no background checks to be had. Why can't people understand this? Besides, hasn't gun crime actually gone down the last few years?

This has nothing to do with “gun crime”. That’s why they never address the real issues. They don’t care if hundreds of poor inner city people are killed daily. They only care about disarming middle America. That’s why they don’t say shite after every holiday weekend when dozens and dozens are murdered but line up and scream from the rooftops when a white kid they’ve been doping up with anti depressants and anxiety meds goes off the rails.

I absolutely believe that the goal of this is to destroy gun manufacturers.
A lot of folks think the law suits stemming from the possible trigger/safety issues w/ the Remington M700 played a role in the eventual bankruptcy of Remington. Personal injury lawsuits are a great way to bankrupt a company and put them out of business. Just ask Blitz gas can company.
