Even if only a third of this stuff passes (and it will) , they will create instant criminals out of millions of Americans.

It’ll be a catastrophe. Hell all they have to do is require a tax stamp on all guns or at least the dreaded “assault weapons”. Don’t declare your AR on your taxes? Congrats, you’re pegged for tax evasion. Sure you might not get caught, but you might. The local gun range might be required to look for that stamp if you want to shoot the AR. In any case, you won’t have enough ammo to shoot it anyway due to taxes, registrations, bans on online sales, and the general government-created pressure on the firearms market.

Yeah this irks me.

HR 127

Pls read HR 127 and consider the implications. It’s a multifaceted attempt to negate the 2nd amendment. With the anti Americans in charge of all 3 branches of government get ready for this garbage to be rammed down your throat.

Its going to be really interesting to see how the state legislatures handle this. I never have much faith in any politican to do the right thing, but local sanctuary laws need to be getting on the books now.

It really chaps my arse that there are people in Washington would love to make gun owners whove never gotten more than a speeding ticket felons overnight. They hate the whole segment of the country who just wants to make a living and be left alone.

What if no company wants to issue these insurance policies?

No company in their right mind would, and they've said as much.

There is a handful of states that have them and Texas is working on theirs.

It’s infuriating. I don’t ask anything of you, liberals, except to be left alone. My guns aren’t committing crimes. The vast majority of criminals committing gun crimes are Democrats in Democrat cities who are already legally banned from possessing guns.

I expect gun licenses and registries are coming.

What happens when you try and buy, let's say, 7.62X39mm, and you don't officially own an AK?

Will they let you? And will 7.62X39mm even be available anymore?

The end state is probably something like the system they have in the UK, where you can own a side by side, but almost nothing else.

Wouldn't survive a court challenge in light of several SCOTUS decisions.

I don't believe the courts will protect us.

They'll water down the 2nd till it's meaningless.

The rules we grew up with don't exist anymore.

You want to clarify that? You're not opposed to current background checks for a FFL transfer?

Or you want all private transactions, inheritance, temporary loan, etc., ALL covered by paperwork and background checks?

Because you're agreeing with the latter, not the former, without clarification.

I see I left my comment open ended. I’m not opposed to getting a background check when purchasing a firearm as it stands.

At least the Republicans waited until after a shooting to take our bump stocks.

Two heads to the same snake. 2nd amendment rights will be under attack regardless of which party is in power. The thing that worries me now is that dems have complete control. I'd be just as worried with complete republican control. I want gridlock.

But to a progressive liberal, there is only one correct way to live. And if you refuse to, you will be made to comply.

You want to live your life as you see fit, but they want you to live your life as they see fit. If you disagree, you must be destroyed.

That’s exactly my point. And they will nibble around the edges.

Nah they're drunk on power right now. They're going to go full retard and try for the gun grab.

SCOTUS will shoot it down, then they will pack the court to get the desired outcome.

In a normal world they would nibble the edges. But we're in clown world now they want it all and they want it now.
