They say it is for guns sales, but watch the wording in the bill. Expect only registered people to be able to use their guns or be in the presence of others using their guns. No more lending guns to friends and family,l

You willing to go get a background check to loan a buddy a gun to hunt? Because under the law proposed you can’t transfer the custody of any gun to another person without a background check.

They will use background checks to take guns from people they simply don’t like
Trump supporters, for example

You don’t really need to be a legal expert. Just look at immigrant sanctuary cities.

You want to clarify that? You're not opposed to current background checks for a FFL transfer?
Or you want all private transactions, inheritance, temporary loan, etc., ALL covered by paperwork and background checks?
Because you're agreeing with the latter, not the former, without clarification.

They always throw in this adjective before “gun control”

Maybe the most dangerous part. Someone gets shot? Sue the gun maker. Only makes sense if the goal is to destroy the gun maker.

I absolutely believe that the goal of this is to destroy gun manufacturers.

There will be some sort of registration/restrictions put on buying ammunition’s at some point. It is something that can be done without a lot of resistance and will be an opportunity to start gun control.

You sure about that?

We are approaching a point were we as 2A supporters/conservatives will have to actually fight for our beliefs or watch them become a footnote of history. I pray the day never comes but I feel like it would be denial to say it’s not going to.
Posted on 2/14/21 at 5:06 pm to civiltiger07
My point being limiting sales of ammunition will be a lot easier than passing actual gun laws. It’s already being discussed and probably being drawn up for legislating. Just what I’ve heard from several lobbyists and lawmakers I happen to know.
Posted on 2/14/21 at 5:14 pm to Martini
The Dems can push a lot of incremental “common sense” measures that eat away at the 2A. Sure, actual “gun grabs” might provoke violent resistance but why would they try that when they can strangle the ammo supply instead? When they can drive gun makers out of business through lawsuits? When they can ban all online sales? Require registration for gun owners? None of these measures alone will provoke much fight or much sympathy from the voting public.
Posted on 2/14/21 at 5:20 pm to biglego
That’s exactly my point. And they will nibble around the edges.

Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets.
So a de facto ban on private sales which no doubt will have the democrats crying for more restrictions since private sales won't be enforceable unless registration happens. That'll be their next "common sense" push. A deathblow to the 2A with a ban on semi autos and destruction of firearm industry because all types of firearms are used in crimes.
And we have the typical leftists saying nothing to worry about.

They don't have to worry about that ever again. That's why they're emboldened now.

Really pisses me off that gun crime is only a problem in Democrat cities amongst Democrat populations, yet the legally-purchased AR in my gun safe is their target.
