Was told Mayor of GI shut down access to the island. Residents and camp owners only, with proof of camp ownership. The cops will check your papers at the checkpoint on the highway.

Is this real?

Not sure if trying to protect the island, or keep word from getting out about a hot trout bite.

Very real. If you get sick they are shipping you to west jeff. If you don't have the virus, you will after that visit

I actually talked to their former chief about this.

They had quite a few New York license plates driving all over the island.

Basically new Yorkers are leaving their state en masse and drove there thinking it was a beach when Florida shut.

Yep, and if you are a camp owner and come onto the island you will have to self quarantine for 2 weeks. I know road side fishing on the island itself is closed, but what about closer to Fourchon?

If I go to my camp in Grand Isle I have no issue staying at my camp or going fishing by boat which leaves from the camp. GI asked you to stay at your camp and only go out for groceries. What's the difference then being at your house? The only thing basically I can't do right now in GI that is different is ride the golf cart on the beach or get bait from the marina. So cast net and plastic baits it is.

And the fact that they would not send you to Chicken of the Sea is a blessing.

Use the New Yorkers for crab bait. Problem solved.

If they block the road going in, I wonder how well it would sit if we blocked the road out?

Giving those New Yorker's the 1930's Okie treatment. Ole Tom Joad must have been fighting again. "I'll be there" on YouTube

Texas is nearly doing it to us.

That’s what it’s looking like. We were gonna head down Friday and stay at the camp but I guess we’ll just leave early Saturday morning

There has been a lot of bitching about tourist all of overall Facebook. Pissing off a bunch of people. Hopefully this restriction ends in few weeks. Can’t even get to family camp just cause it’s in different name they told me.

Kemo, I’m going to know by Tuesday what work schedule will look like then I’ll call you back about setting up trip.

Mayor Camardelle, I've never liked that guy. He and those JP dick beaters are LOVING it.
