Before I got to flight school at NAS Whiting Field in Milton, FL they had a similar situation. The T-34C was a front and back cockpit (student up front, instructor in the rear seat). On one flight the aircraft struck a buzzard. Came right through the windscreen, knocking out the student, who slumped over the controls. Plane goes into an immediate dive. When the instructor came to, all he sees is blood and feathers everywhere up front, an unresponsive student, an a rather alarming trajectory. He tried several times to get the student to respond with no success. With the carnage and gore up front, he thought the student was dead; so, he bails out. The student comes to, realizes he's by himself and manages to land the plane safely back at base (if I recall, with a broken arm or collar bone, to boot). We were told the student won an air medal before he ever technically qualified to solo.

This does not add up.
If she had a license, she was qualified to land the plane. Hell, they let me solo after four hours.
I am not taking anything away from her. If my instructor had jumped out, there would have been pucker marks on the left seat. She was cool under pressure.

What if she wouldn't have had a successful landing, investigators would be like WTF.
Why's there was only one body in the plane? Did he survive and walk away? And how long do you think it would have been before they found his body?

Wow! I'm sure it wasn't awkward at all between the student and the instructor.

She made a point to say it is very difficult to open the door.
That sounds like, “He took the gun, aimed it to the back of his head, which is very difficult to do”
