Truly dedicated instructor to see if his pupil could handle a tough situation and land that plane by herself. Touché! You just don’t see that type of dedicated instruction these days.

I had a similar experience. Dad pushed me other of the boat and said now learn to swim or sink

Mine roasted me while the CFI laughed. He had just passed me so I didn’t care. My power off 180 was basically a carrier landing so he was justified

That doesn't sound sus at all. My guess is he was smashing his student on the side promising he would leave his wife and he was pushed out when she didn't get the answer she wanted a couple of thousand feet in the air.
