I would put up with all that shite too if they ever actually had what I needed when I walked in but they never do

I remember Lowe’s and Home Depot always kind of kept up with trends and kind of had things that I couldn’t find other places. Now you might as well find a local hardware store and be in and out in 10 minutes. Pricing isn’t that great either. Ace hardware, northern tool and harbor freight just about get it done for me.

My Lowe’s is fine. Much prefer it over Home Depot. For a single item I go to Ace.

Without a doubt, the best big box store I've ever been to was in Bloomington, IN. several years ago when helping a friend frame up an addition to his home. The store was called Menard's and the help was top notch with the store being neat, clean and well organized.
But here’s the real question, did you save big money?

I would drive 5 miles past a Home Depot store to get to a Lowes store for even the smallest item.

Employees that know almost nothing about the products
If they had to hire based on employees either knowing or learning about the products that would limit who they could hire to the point they would have to run full time on half crews.

Trying to compete with the dollar general experience

Can’t say that I have the same experience at the Lafayette Lowe’s.
I usually just went to the Home Depot across the street so I wouldn't have to take a left turn on Ambassador.

Lowes closest to me is better than the Home Depot.
I like Home Depot better because they carry Milwaukee-branded tools. And they deliver, often times the same day, for free. I ordered an item that was less than $5 and it showed up at my door hours later.
Not sure how that is profitable for them, but they continue to earn my business.

Fixed it.
95% of the time I just go to Stine. If they don't have it I second guess whether I need it or can wait for Amazon.

Bogalusa lumber is the GOAT. Can just call your shite in and they’ll have it ready when you get there.
