I remember watching this video and the transformation this guy made was truly incredible and inspiring. I was in awe. Still chokes me up today.

I'll admit I haven't been to a doctor in well over 3 years, and am out of tune of just how easy it appears to be to obtain a medical marijuana card. Plus, it's not one of first or fifth things on my mind *when* I go to the doctor.

I understand the meaning behind your comment.

When my ten year old smells weed, he says,

“Dad…..smells like football practice”

To me, it smells like a skunk. It's an awful smell for a temporary high.

I have an outdoor gas grill and Primo Oval XL (which rarely gets used). I am interested in a pellet grill.

Is Recteq still the recommended brand by most on here? What about Lone Star Grillz (Conroe, TX)? Seems pricier, but perhaps better constructed?

What are nice features to look for? What are some things I should be aware of when considering a pellet grill?
Unless a person has a medical prescription, isn’t weed still illegal in Louisiana?

I’m on the road a bit and more often than not I’ll catch a strong whiff of it coming from the car next to me or the one in front. Windows rolled up, and I can still smell it. How do cops not notice this?

It feels like half the people on the road are driving around high. How is this just normal now? Do the people who smoke weed while driving not realize the smell doesn't just stay in their vehicle?
LSU should pay the man and honor the contract that both parties agreed to, instead of trying to weasel their way out of this.

If there truly was an issue prior to termination with Coach Kelly (and I am no fan of his), there should be written documentation — just like there would (or should) be for any other person working in the state, federal, or private sector from his boss, Scott Woodward.

Coach Kelly was a disappointment at LSU, but that has no bearing on what was agreed upon by both parties. LSU made a terrible mistake with hiring Kelly, but that is not Kelly’s fault.

People don’t leave what they have unless they believe what they are going to is better for them.

Sometimes “better” can be to remove themselves from the situation. Sometimes “better” can be by themselves. Sometimes “better” can be for another person.

Pay attention and watch her actions, because these will always be telling.

I have heard that they have really turned that business around!

I went a couple of months ago with my daughter. This was the first time I had stepped inside of a Chili's in at least 20 years.

Surprisingly, it was pretty good. I got a burger and fries. My daughter had their chicken fingers. We'd go back. Really decent "value" and "quality" for the price.

And the service was fine as well.

Prime Rib for Turkey Day

Posted by Will Cover on 11/10/25 at 10:13 pm
I want to do something different this year. Is Costco or Sam's Club the best place to pick up a "larger" prime rib for Thanksgiving?

Buy it now and freeze it? Thaw for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator prior to cooking day?

I was eyeing this recipe:

1 whole rib eye roast (you can use boneless or bone-in prime rib) about 14 pounds
4 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 c. kosher salt
4 tbsp. tri-color peppercorns (or any peppercorns)
3 sprigs rosemary
3 sprigs thyme
1/2 c. minced garlic

Preheat oven to 500°F.

Cut rib loin in half (roast halves separately for more controlled/even cooking.)

Sear both halves in olive oil over very high heat until nice dark golden color. Place tricolor peppercorns into a bag, crush pepper corns with a rolling pin. Strip the leaves from the rosemary and thyme springs. Mix salt, crushed peppercorns, rosemary leaves, thyme leaves and garlic.

Pour olive oil over the rib loin and pour on the rub mix. Pat slightly to get it to stick to the meat. Roast for 20-30 minutes at 500 degrees, then reduce heat to 300°F and roast for another 20 to 30 minutes or until a meat thermometer registers 125 for rare/medium rare (roast will continue to cook slightly after removing from the oven.) NOTE: If you'd like the meat more cooked, leave it in the oven longer. Just keep an eye on the meat thermometer and don't let it cook past medium rare! **USING A MEAT THERMOMETER IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ENSURE YOU COOK THE MEAT TO YOUR LIKING***

Remove from oven and let rest at least 20 minutes before slicing.
The Las Vegas PD just put a few in service.

I think they are overpriced, and I don’t like the look.

Most new vehicles depreciate in value the moment you drive them off the lot, and the Cybertruck is certainly no exception. The resale value on these things is very poor. Many people who bought them early are severely upside down.

How old are you in your own self reflection and does it match reality?

It took me a very long time to realize that how I perceived myself to be versus how others perceived me to be were completely opposite of one another.

If you made a mistake or are about to make one, shed a light of reflection on it, and see God's love and wisdom there. I am stronger because I had to be. I’m smarter because of my mistakes, happier because I’ve known sadness, and wiser from all my lessons.

Divorce changed me. And I am "blessed" as one can be for going through it.

How often does a tankless hot water heater need servicing?

Here's what I did for mine, earlier this year. It was the first time I descaled it after hving it installed over 4 years ago.

How to descale a Nortiz Heater

5-gallon bucket
Distilled food grade white vinegar (3 to 4 gallons)
3/4” connection drain hoses (2)
Submersible pump

1. Unit should be on.
2. Follow the supply line to the gas valve and turn it off.
3. The red isolator valve indicates the hot water side, while the blue isolator valve indicates cold water.
4. The drain caps are located on top of the hot side and on the left of the cold side.
5. The vertical valve indicates that it is on and water is free flowing.
6. Turn both hot and cold main water valves off so that they are perpendicular to the pipe.
7. Remove the drain caps on both hot and cold sides.
8. Place the bucket under the hot water side. Carefully turn the red drain valve to the on position. Use the bucket to drain the excess water still trapped inside.
9. Do the same for the cold water side. Turn the blue inlet valve to the on position to drain the excess water.
10. Connect a hose to the submersible pump.
11. Place the pump with connected hose inside the 5-gallon bucket with the power cord out.
12. Connect the pump hose to the cold water inlet valve. Make sure it is screwed on tight. The inlet value should be in the on position.
13. Connect the other hose to the hot water drain valve. Place the end of the drain hose in the bucket.
14. Pour about 3 to 4 gallons of the vinegar into the bucket so that the pump is completely submerged.
15. Plug in the pump and turn on.
16. Run for at least 1 hour.
17. Change vinegar solution after 30 minutes and repeat.
18. The unit will try to fire up but it will not be successful. Eventually, an error code 11 will appear. Do not restart. This is normal.
19. After 1 hour, turn the cold water inlet valve to the off position.
20. Unscrew and remove the pump hose.
21. Replace the cold water drain cap and screw on tightly.
22. Remove the pump and the drain hose from the bucket and set aside.
23. Drain out the liquid from the bucket.
24. Place the drain hose back into the empty bucket.
25. Turn the main inlet valve back on, parallel to the pipe (cold water main inlet valve).
26. Let the unit flush out through the hot water side for 20 gallons worth.
27. Turn the main inlet valve off (cold water side), perpendicular to the pipe.
28. For additional maintenance, locate the water filter and unscrew to remove for cleaning. Some water may flow out.
29. Clean the filter under running water to remove any debris.
30. Place the dry filter back in the port and twist on tightly by hand.
31. Turn the drain valve (hot water) to the off position. Unscrew and remove the drain hose.
32. Replace the drain cap and screw on tightly.
33. Turn the main hot and cold valves back to the on position (parallel to the pipes).
34. Turn the gas line back on (parallel to the pipes).
35. Reset the error message by powering off the unit and powering it back on again.

* Make sure there are valves for flushing. You’ve got an inlet and an outlet.
* Turn the valve across puts a stop in it.

Edited ...

My notes, after watching everal YT videos.

Women leave men 80 % of the time, and if they’re college-educated, it’s 90 %.

One of the number one predictors of divorce is actually if the woman out-earns the man.
Divorce is a business transaction. Radio silence unless absolutely necessary.

The house is on fire at this point, so don't spend your time watering the lawn.

Keep your cards close. Never reveal or show your hand before it is time.

Even if you don’t want a divorce, and you are on the receiving end of a divorce suit, it means you are both getting a divorce.

Divorce can be unilateral and does not have to be a joint decision.

Never leave your marital residence unless ordered by the court.

In Louisiana, there is no “legal” separation.

Child support is based on the stated income / support tables.

In a community property state, there is a 50/50 division of assets.

The more you fight, the richer the attorneys become.

The divorce suit is the simplest. When children, custody, and child support are involved, these are treated as separate things (even dates in terms of when these will be settled) and are more complex.

Focus on yourself and your children. Don’t talk about the other spouse in front of your children. Always take the high road.

IF, and this is a big IF, your father stops drinking, some damage from alcohol-related dementia can be reversed, particularly in the early stages.

Birddogs. They feel like lululemon material, except they aren't baggy, and they are wrinkle resistant.

They are casual and business casual enough. I wash mine, and hang them up to dry overnight.

If you decide to buy Birddogs, buy a size up than your normal size, i.e., if a 36, buy a 38, etc., as they tend to run small.

what does the future look like for EV sales?

I finally bought one — picking it up this weekend.

I’m still hanging onto my truck though. I just like gas-powered vehicles, especially when it comes to trucks.

I went with a Tesla mostly for the tech and the low maintenance. Basically, all you have to worry about are wipers, tires, and brakes — and the brakes usually last past 100K miles. The only real downside I’ve seen is tire wear, mostly because of the weight.

Battery life, based on everything that I have read, is solid. Older Teslas still hold around 80% capacity even after 150–200K miles.

This one’s just for my daily commute. I’ll still use the truck for my dogs and for hauling stuff when I need to, or for longer trips. I still think we are a little ways away from EVs becoming main stream. The infrastructure isn't there, yet.

Not a tree hugger. Just really impressed with the technology in these vehicles, at least with Tesla. I took advantage of the $7500 tax credit.

Insurance, every 6 months, is $1900 in Louisiana. I'll be selling this vehicle early next year to my business, and it will be registered to my business in another state. Insurance, then, will only be $750 every 6 months.

Edited to add.

I do think that Hybrid vehicles are a better way that car manufacturers in the US should look more into.
