Where you moving Baw

About 20 minutes up the road. Ready for a fresh start.
I don't want or need the mounts. I prefer to leave them. I was just seeking clarification as to what is the "norm" here.

Unfortunately, this was not discussed prior to the purchase agreement being signed.

Selling a house and TV wall mounts

I know the general rule is anything that is attached to the wall stays with the house when it is sold. Does that usually apply to TV wall mounts as well?

I don't mind leaving the mounts if that's the expectation. I suppose it could also come down to the buyer's preference. Just wanted to check what the usual practice is -- first time doing this in 18 years.

Sometimes I feel the opposite of thankful when I feel that feeling. Looking at pictures of my kids when they were smaller or loved ones who aren't around anymore just makes me feel a little depressed TBH. It makes me wonder why I take so many pictures in the first place when all they do is make me sad. Maybe one day I will have your positive perspective about it.

It took me a long while to have the perspective I now have.

A lot of self-reflection, a lot of looking at things as best as I could from a different point of view, a lot of counseling, and a lot of stop feeling sorry for myself (even when I used to think I didn't).

You can get there, but it won't be an overnight change. You will need to be very intentional about your thoughts, and correct yourself when you start to fall back into old habits.

Be glad that you have all those pics. It's a good problem to have

I agree. It's amazing how you can be fine ... fine ... fine ... everything's fine ... and a few pictures that take you back ... and realize what life used to be like.

Marriage, birth of our children, pictures of my mom's 60th birthday, my daughters with our friends in San Antonio, etc. -- had to jump off the emotional rollercoaster tonight. Too much stuff to do and not trying to suppress those emotions and feelings -- but good to know they are still there!
I have so many pictures on my computer (not in the cloud) that are unlabeled -- we're talking thousands and thousands.

I'm so grateful I have them. I could easily spend months and months trying to sort through them.

The memories. Every picture tells a story. And then I see one of my dad and mom both holding my daughters. My dad died at the end of 2024, and my mom died in 2025. Really puts things in perspective. Time does not stop. But pictures and memories do last.

I was doing fine, but now I have a lump in my throat, tears in my eye. And for that, I am thankful. Grief is the price we all pay for love.

The complimentary appetizer rose to prominence decades ago as a replacement for the free tortillas and butter Tex-Mex and Mexican restaurants used to dole out. Mass-produced tortilla chips became more widely available in the seventies, and offering them with a side of salsa (house-made or from a jar) turned out to be cheaper in some cases.

Chips and salsa soon became a standard, and customers expected them to hit the table before their drink orders were even taken. But things slowly started to change with the inflation that came during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, it’s become more common to charge diners for chips and salsa, and the practice may be increasing as the restaurant industry struggles because many diners are choosing to eat at home due to high gas and food prices. This has caused some sticker shock.

A man will trade his happiness for his family. A woman will trade her family for her happiness.

Women, children, and dogs are loved unconditionally. A man is only valued for what he can provide.

After me and the long time girl split about 15 years ago I've been on dates and such through the years but as I get older I've noticed that modern 40-somethings just live their lives doing whatever social media tells them to do. I haven't even bothered in a year or so after my last attempt at a relationship had to break things off because she "couldn't date a sober man". Yeah, she's mid 40's and still wants to go partying and such with her kids at home. I've pretty much given up. It's much more peaceful and financially satisfying not trying to court these drones.

I've been separated/divorced for almost five years. When it happened, my daughters were 12 and 15.

My ex-wife started seeing someone before our divorce was even finalized, and they're now engaged. I chose a different path. I took time to focus on myself and, more importantly, on my girls. I've dated here and there, but nothing serious or long-term because I wanted them to know they came first.

I remember hearing Dr. Laura talk about not getting seriously involved with someone while your kids are still at home, and I thought it was really good advice. Her point wasn't that you should never move on or find happiness again. It was that your kids are already dealing with a major change, and they need stability, your attention, and to know they are your priority.

My youngest will be 18 soon. At that point, I'll feel like I've done what I set out to do as a dad, and I'll be ready to put more focus into building a relationship for myself. Until then, my focus has been on being the best dad I can be. And I continue to do just that, something that I am very proud of.

I would hate to come home to nothing

I think you're looking at it like the only two options are a relationship or nothing. That's not really how life works. You can have family, friends, hobbies, purpose, and a full life whether you're dating someone or not.

A relationship should add to your life, not be the only thing that gives it meaning.

My family is my two daughters and me. Even when they're not with me, I don't feel like I'm coming home to nothing. I know our relationship is strong whether we're together or not. A relationship isn't the only thing that gives your life meaning. And if that is how you truly feel, you most likely don't need to be in a relationship until you can learn to love and count on yourself.

Shoes off in the house ?

I want to implement this in my new house. My youngest daughter initially introduced me to this idea.

For guests, what do you tell them? Do you provide a slip on shoe cover? Or ask them to walk around barefooted if they didn't wear socks?

I like Saxx, but I switched to MeUndies, Buck Naked (I think Duluth makes these) and ExOfficio.

All 4 are premium.

I just subscribed again to FSD and it is behaving better than when I cancelled a few months ago, FSD 14 Lite likely coming this month. The HW4 with 14+ is pretty incredible so hoping it’s close. Either way, it’s an awesome car so much tech packed into it. Getting around town is a joy, it’s so quick and nimble.

I "drove" mine this past week to Gatlingburg. On the way up to Gatlinburg, I "filled up" at Supercharger stations, and filled to 85 % and 90 % when I stopped. Once I reached 80 % (which recharges fairly quickly), it added a considerable amount of time to my "drive." I learned.

On the way home, I filled up to 80 %. Very quick. Shaved off quite a bit of time, and made it back 11.5 hours. Approximately 730 miles. Left it in "hurry" mode the entire trip. At one point with FSD, I let the car drive me for 330 miles without me touching the wheel or brakes.

Quite an enjoyable trip on the way home once I "learned" that charging up to 80 % is really the sweet spot.

Even Tesla with their self drive - I just hate the way they look

Aside from the S Plaid, I agree. And I own a Model 3.

I just hate the way they ... handle, and their interiors are cheap as hell

It's the best riding vehicle I have ever owned, and that includes my 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten with air suspension -- and I've also owned Acura and Lexus.

The interiors are "different." Not traditional by which many people are used to. I don't find them "cheaply" made.

I bought mine for the technology. Tesla, in my opinion, has superior technology. I've "driven" just over 11,000 miles on mine -- and 85 % of the time, the car drives me. I'm never in a hurry anymore, and driving is actually a very relaxing activity when I am in my vehicle.
This is for a new construction build in Ascension Parish.

My pool equipment will be located right next to the main gas line coming into the house.

Do you agree with Grok?

Order a Manual J, D, and S report -- this should only serve to help you.

How much revenue can you make with a Walk-On's Bistreaux & Bar franchise? A Walk-On's Bistreaux & Bar franchised restaurant makes on average $4,779,000 in revenue (AUV) per year.

That's great, but what can you keep? Because that is what matters.

You just described my initial experience, after checking into a hotel, with this type of person coming out of the elevator, on their way to grab hotel breakfast.
