ESPN has updated its College Football Power Rankings following Week 6, and LSU took one of the biggest falls after Saturday night's 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky.
The Tigers dropped 14 spots from No. 9 to No. 23 after suffering their second loss of the season, putting their College Football Playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.
ESPN's Mark Schlabach pointed to LSU's defensive struggles against Kentucky, which piled up 401 total yards, including 155 on the ground.
Schlabach also questioned Lane Kiffin's decision to punt on fourth-and-1 from LSU's own 43-yard line with 1:46 remaining in regulation.
Here's what Schlabach had to say about LSU at No. 23:

The Tigers' CFP hopes are on life support after a second loss on the road, this time a 35-34 overtime thriller at Kentucky on Saturday night. LSU also fell 32-24 in coach Lane Kiffin's return to Ole Miss, and with two losses, there is absolutely no margin for error the rest of the way. That isn't good with games remaining against Mississippi State on Saturday and then three straight against Alabama, Texas and Tennessee in November. LSU's defense had been pretty good this season, but the Tigers surrendered 401 yards against Kentucky, including 155 rushing. That made Kiffin's decision to punt on fourth-and-1 from LSU's 43 with 1:46 to go even more perplexing. -- Mark Schlabach
