Texas has become an economic powerhouse and has taken many companies from California
Florida as well taking companies from NY
NC has become one of the banking capitals and SC has grown as well
Georgia has been growing non stop the past 2 decades
Tennessee the past few years have exploded with economic opportunities
Meanwhile Louisiana and Mississippi are becoming poorer and more people are moving than ever

8 years of JBE didn't help us.
ETA: And overall our residents are stupid, which is obviously the much larger issue than any particular government official.

Mississippi doesn’t belong in this conversation. They have lapped Louisiana and made significant strides in improving their state.

And currently in a 4 year term with a guy more concerned with hanging up bible posters in classrooms than actually improving the state.
We will always suck regardless of the governor's party affiliation.

Just stayed in Mississippi and I can 100% confirm it has passed Louisiana.

We (MS) actually gained population and have the best economic numbers than we have had in a long time.
Sounds like you are just making assumptions based on ignorance.

Low property tax is very enticing as you get older.

If you’re trying to make this about race when Ga, Tn, NC, and SC have huge black population

not with economic growth

Because Louisiana is the worst of all political worlds: fiscally liberal and socially conservative.

shite man, since EBT became a credit card even the local post office is shutting down. Hard times indeed.

It’s a case of the rich getting richer, at a state level instead of personal.
Texas already had a big O&G presence, and consistently took O&G company HQs from Louisiana for decades.
Florida has had tourism money for forever, but additionally, the Tampa area is a hub for health insurance companies. It’s a center for that specialty now, and so it’s attractive for like companies that want a base of resources.
Same with banking, and the research triangle in North Carolina.
What’s Louisiana’s draw? What’s Mississippi’s? Low cost of living, and that’s going away in areas with rising housing and insurance costs.

shite public schools, shite infrastructure, corrupt government, and lack of jobs for young professionals.

Is it really a question anymore? A history of populist economic policy, a much lower iq in the average population, crooked local politicians who were voted in by low iq populace. It's not really a question anymore.
Populist?
Who was a populist? Jindal, JBE, Landry? Cantrell? They are the most run of the mill establishment line do nothing politicians ever
